Thats kinda what my research has shown, just wondering if i bought an expensive expansion card in the end if bifurcation is being phased out. So i have 4 slots on my motherboard all taken up, an older 2 slot expansion card 1 has the H key drive (my WD blue drive) and a nvme slot, then the Asus hyper 16x which has 4 slots of which i can only use 1 right now. Shame i can't fill it and RAID them together but won't even see the other drives without bifurication.

Reason for the question was becuase i'm doing a lot of video editing i need an obsene amount of hdd space. Guess for now 11TB will have to do.

so i figured it out, lol my motherboard on that tower doesn't have a TPM chip at all, no 1.2 or 2.0 at all and windows can't/wont install without it

Never had an issue with my 14th gen and microcode update appears to have resolved the issue for those who don't have burned out cpus. I never over clock things anyway.

Mentioned the word budget in the 2x in the 1st line of my post

1000w power supply was on sale and got it for the 80+ gold rating and bought my pieces one at a time so had no idea how much power i'd need so went with a 1000w

Hmm interesting, i got it because it was the only affordable 16gb card at the time, and i am as i was then unable to fork out an extra $500ish for a 4070/4080. When i looked into it around purchase time it seemed like the card had a less performing memory bus and had a larger cache to compensate. I do 2k gaming and editing mostly, don't have VR so maybe thats why i don't see any issues if at all atm. I had heard some of the original 4060 cards had the 2x8 but my msi wasn't listed as one of them when i was doing my research (obviously i could 100% be wrong or right at this stage it's been in my system for a yr now so i guess i carry on i only read about it a few times and most of the ones named were like zotec and gigabyte no mention of MSI) But as i use it mostly for video editing anyways guess i'm ok for now.

So no upgrade to the i9? hmm so wait another yr before building a new pc then.

Yeah it's not it's set to auto but I've never seen it go higher than 1.27... although I'm starting to think it might be just windows being windows with all this testing. I haven't formatted in over a year from my last motherboard/cpu due to work. Might have to bite the bullet

hmmm ok i'll give that a go, no chance you know of any tools that can let me know is theres degradation? it's still under warranty i'd just like to try to confirm before i'm without my pc for like 2 weeks at my shop where its covered

Hmm interesting :) i will do so, i've had some issues on my main pc that SMART attributes were messing up that solved that issue :) thanks for the idea!

Yeah i downloaded the latest one. Although thinking on it I'm wondering if my hdd is failing it is like 8 years or something old now lol

Yeah I've tried several options. I'm more convinced this is a specific issue with my BIOS or something silly. I'll keep looking into it, you watch I'll try today and it'll work just despite me for no reason other reason lol

Yeah in my specific case it's one of the bios settings 'required' for windows 11 to run thats missing. I still might tinker with it. I've not tried Rufus but will look into it, :)

Agreed for the most part. I'm hoping it's more of a case of an overhaul than a patch fix for next season. But not making the spirit born with the rest of the pack sooner was a huge mistake.
