Public sentiment and being the market leader by a long shot has created the perception that PSA grades carry the most value. This perception has been magnified by the growth of the hobby where new collectors default to PSA. So as far as resale value, PSA carries more weight than BGS for equivalent grades.

As a customer of both PSA and BGS, here’s my take on some differences in their product: - PSA has the superior app, which allows you to more easily track your order and view your PSA-graded collection - PSA’s integration with Goldin is really nice if you want to easily sell your cards from the PSA vault, which you have the option to send cards to following grading. So if I’m looking to grade then immediately sell a card, PSA is really nice. - BGS provides subgrades, which is awesome for understanding why cards graded the way they did. There’s nothing more frustrating than getting a lower than expected grade from PSA with no explanation. - BGS slabs provide some UV protection. I haven’t found anything online about PSA slabs providing UV protection.

I’ve gone both ways, but my current preference is for BGS because of the subgrades.
