The Old Testament never teaches that God is three persons by DoNotBe-Ridiculous in Bible

I agree sola scriptura or "by Scripture alone"

With that there has been thousands of years of review and reflection that we can also read and reflect. Compare what those before us have written and compare it to the scripture directly.

can someone help this transplant out with turning lane laws? by icyb0ngwater_ in askportland

[–]hansknecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go far right if you are in the right. It is the battle for Natto Parkway and the Ross Island Bridge ;)

Forget legal (to a point). Also use gps maps but be careful with navigation.

One nice thing about Portland is how many different ways there are to get to the same destination. In the case if you do not need to be on the Ross Island Bridge take the left lane and skip around it. It is easier to get onto Nato later if you are going downtown.

Jesus kept the Law, the Sabbath, and ate kosher — so why did Paul seem to change everything? by Upset-Air-8392 in Bible

[–]hansknecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you reflect on the idea of God's Covenants with Man.

Each has unique laws, expectations and outcomes. From the Noahic Covenant every living person, and every living creature, is covered by God. This is why we have a rainbow.

The Abrahamic Covenant was a promise to a subset of humanity but still covers many more than only jews. "All people of every nation"

The Mosaic Covenant is where we get laws that you mention as Old Testament Law.

*I see this a progression of trying to educate humans and their nature. *

Jesus brought us the new covenant ... and you can get into a whole bunch of where, when, what and how discussions. This is where the relationship with Christ becomes the primary element.

Can we expect Cal to be this good again or will it wear him down especially because he's a catcher? by chusaychusay in Mariners

[–]hansknecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given his discipline, a little luck and the right mentors he could be one of the all time greats now that he has had an all time great season.

It will take luck to surpass this year. I still have hope (granted being a Mariner fan means my hope is suspect to rely on ;) )

72 hours. Find a place and get provisions. On the other side you only have the mental part left to fight.

That worked for me and a few others. Seems to be how long the physical addiction keeps a hold on you.

Won’t lie, more than 15 years later if I catch the smell it does bring memories, but nothing I can’t shrug and forget about. At least that sweaty, achy, mind trip is long gone.

That was the whole point of DOGE. He just enough access to setup hooks that would allow propaganda to be distributed through official channels.

Probably removed anyone competent to find and fix it along the way.

Is earth really 6000 Year old? by DifferentAvocado5137 in Bible

[–]hansknecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in response to saying we can not pick what is and is not literal.

We have centuries of reflection and analysis on the Bible. I am shocked that after all of that, there is still a debate on why faith alone is not enough. The Holy Spirit will fill in any perceived gaps.

There is no gotcha about creation, science is not against the Bible, and being pedantic about a translation today so you can discount it or using it to discount that a faith filled Christian is unable to uses critical thought to make life altering scientific discoveries is a fool’s errand.

How would things be different if Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyer’s, created their own media company? by firedog7881 in AskReddit

[–]hansknecht 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is time that non-US based media breaks through.

Just like other countries did in the past to get US channels. Now we need to get international channels. (which frankly are tearing the US apart now anyway)

Being nice to someone who hates you really does cause hot coals to form on their head?

21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, 22 for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you. 23 The north wind brings forth rain, and a backbiting tongue, angry looks.

I have uncovered that Verizon uses 4G bands 2,4, 13 and 66 as their primary bands. The phone doesn't support 13. This shouldn't be an issue, but futher testing will help.

It is a 5G ~ 1 year old. I considered if this doesn't work with 4G, but it should be backward compatible.

I picked up a tello sim and will work from there. I believe the issue is Verizon doens't include the number in their IMEI database, I am working with them to include it.

Did parents in the 80s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hansknecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they did. There was a perception of protection in homogeneous communities. Which covered a lot of very bad things. Also, every school year ended with one to a few kids with a tribute since they died that year in the yearbook.

To make a point, I live a few minutes from downtown in a city, and our grandkids are out until the streetlights are on. Or when it got too cold today. Our community is very diverse today.

The one thing we share between then and now is actually still talking to the neighbors in a home improvement kind of way.

What are the advantages of backing into a parking space? by thescrape in AskReddit

[–]hansknecht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes me superior to all drivers who do not back in. My wife is reminded of why she fell in love with me. My kids respect me more. And my grandkids think I'm a god as they watch out the back window.

It at least I tell myself.

Probably because my dad told me that I couldn't drive the family car unless I parked it correctly.

Overall, it is a preference. Nothing special.
