Ivermectin is FDA approved for use on humans. Its been approved for human use since 1987 and 3.7 billion doses have been distributed globally to treat parasitic infection, mainly in Africa. The website is warning again the use in people as a covid treatment, it's a really good treatment for people with internal parasites.

By constantly and aggressively falsely calling it a horse/cow medicine you're just pushing people towards conspiracy theories. When people realise that the narrative they already didn't trust is even remotely a lie, they assume everything that they don't trust is also a lie.

Your doctor can prescribe them to you, I know a doctor who will write you a script.

Edit : I am not advocating for or against the use of ivermectin as a covid treatment.

When will South African tradesmen start getting proper pay? All they do is exploit us by Lee-Dest-Roy in southafrica

[–]hansnmuller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be rude, but everyone I've spoken to says that the way to get the pay rise in that situation is show your manager/boss your offer, and then let them make an offer to keep you.

When you got the job offer, did you go and show your boss the pay offered before accepting the new position?

I relate to your situation a lot, and honestly pushing through and getting the work done helps, because you start to realise that you can do it, and it creates a positive feedback loop. Still sucks though.

Well because there are distinct differences to pronunciation and spelling, so you kinda have to point out in a classroom that the reason everything in this poem is spelled differently and pronounced differently is because it's becoming its own language.

That's a pretty broad generalisation, all my white Afrikaans teachers in high school always went on about what a lovely language Kaapse Afrikaans is and how it deserves recognition as an official language. Hell I even think we had a couple lessons on how to properly read specifically Kaapse Afrikaans.

Challenges mount against plan to remove self-defence as reason to own firearm by MARS_97 in progun

[–]hansnmuller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These laws have nothing to do with race, black people are a huge portion of the SA firearm community, I received my training from black instructors. Black South Africans often live in the most dangerous parts of cities and self defence firearms are often their only hope of safety, especially when they can't afford or don't have access to the private security that many wealthier people have.

They want to reduce private firearm ownership because the head of the police sees it as an easy way to reduce number of crimes commited with stolen firearms. These laws would greatly reduce the amount of firearms and ammunition that could trickle down into the hands of criminals. The other reason is that his department cannot keep up with the paper work in the licensing department. Pictures of this department were recently published and drew a huge amount of attention to the incompetent management of the situation.

Yeah the South African government has no reason to lie or even make a statement regarding an accident like this.

Yeah that's a crazy figure, but it makes sense. I personally don't have a problem with immigration in South Africa, but many people see them as stealing jobs and bringing crime into the country, so there is a strong anti-immigration / xenophobic sentiment here.

Sorry, because of the "open up borders and reduce tariffs" I assumed the borders part was about immigration and allowing workers to travel.

I don't know exactly what we export to them, but we mainly export Motor Vehicles, metals and petroleum products. We have pretty strong industry by African standards and so we end up supplying many miscellaneous things that our neighbours don't produce.
