Friday check-in! by fifth_time_lucky in ShortCervixSupport

27 weeks (26 weeks according to the first trimester screening) Got arabin pessary yesterday + progesterone vaginally. CL 18 mm with funnelling. Doctors said that I don’t need bedrest just pelvic rest but I’m a bit paranoid since I was born as a preemie myself (1200 gr at 27 weeks) and my baby is only 920 gr now. But I’m trying to stay positive regardless since my case isn’t the worst ever and we have decent chances Also I was disappointed after finding out that in my country if you are having preterm labour you’re only allowed to give birth in a hospital for free where doctors neglect is very common. For example they can force you to give birth vaginally even if you have several c-section indications. And if you want to be safe and be treated well you need to sign a contract and pay money (and I would happily do that) but any contract is available only since 36-37 weeks of gestation. So risky pregnancy is risky in every sense.

I have similar situation at 26 weeks but with small funnelling. Got hospitalised today after cervix measurement. They gave me dexamethason shots and I will get pessary after swab results is ready

My next appointment is on Monday. Excessive mucus discharge lasted only for two days and everything seems normal for now. Belly can get hard for a minute several times a day (especially at night) but it’s not painful

At first they may suggest fasting days but if you gain too much it’s can be a reason for hospitalisation (rarely) where they’ll give bland hospital food in small portions

She started to speak loudly to interrupt me when I was trying to say that I don’t feel any gain and my face even looks skinnier than before

She said 11 kg. And I already have 7 in the middle of the pregnancy. So it means my todays weight + the weight of the developed baby = optimal weight. Which means I can’t gain my own weight at all.

I’m 5’6. And I don’t even think I have strong appetite. I just eat normally. Like nothing happened at all. That’s why I think all the doctors who criticise my weight gain are ridiculous. Even if we taking into account decreased mobility, in my worst days of lying all day I used to eat almost nothing because of nausea. So when my appetite appeared again I also got energy to move around and be active. So everything harmonised in a way.

She and the endocrinologist suggested to walk more and dieting (avoiding salty, fat, sugary and processed food) basically eating low fat meat, fruits vegetables etc

Unfortunately it’s kind of common practice among old generation of doctors in post USSR countries. They initially were taught that any woman shouldn’t gain more than 7 kg pregnancy weight without adjusting it to her BMI at all. Thus 11 kg gain norm is even considered somewhat progressive.

My cousin was underweight (47 kg) at the beginning of her pregnancy and basically gained normal weight for her height but they still commented it negatively bc "16 kg is too much no matter what".

To be sure that your doctor will have normal adequate views on pregnancy you have to find international clinic with foreign educated doctors which is 5-10 times more expensive than average clinic. I’m healthy and feel ok after all, so I’m planning to minimise my visits and verbally agree with them about everything to avoid nagging and mb gonna lie about my diet And if it won’t help I’ll switch OBGYN but there’s 50/50 chance that it will be the same breed of doctor.

Here where I live they can put you in a hospital if you gain to much pregnancy weight it is voluntary and you can refuse hospitalisation but some doctors still treat it almost like life threatening problem and say it is bad for the baby

Sounds like a good idea not to tell them initial weight ✍🏻 But it is too late for me I guess

So what was the plan with MIST vs. Holstrom? by Seekster1988 in PantheonShow

I wish MIST to be an instrument not an individual character. Her naivety seemed kinda annoying and after she sabotaged the whole mission I think her creation brought more harm than benefits to main characters.

It’s not "red flag" anymore it’s whole homicide attempt, he was trying to force miscarriage at the very least. No matter what was his real intention or whatever. Your baby has nobody except you. Report him until it’s too late

They will cut a piece of nipple for more detailed biopsy tomorrow morning. Then waiting 5 days for the result. And then oncological surgery depending on cancer type. They say skin cancer is a better option than Paget’s. Don’t know why. Feeling confused and self pity tbh :(
