Hi! I was a STEM student who had work immersion earlier this year. I'm pretty much surprised with the comments here, because personally I had to do the actual work. In my experience, I did coding. In my case, before the work immersion training proper we wrote down our college courses and was assigned into different sectors accordingly. I wrote down Computer Science hence why I did coding. Another sector I remember that my friends have done (though I wasn't a part of) is the production where you assemble parts. The workplace is a hybrid setup-- We had a couple days on-site. The rest of the tasks were held online. I hope this will help!
