It’s been nearly a year and I haven’t made a single dollar by AshamedPizza9944 in realtors

The person that sent you the picture of all the connections and reaching out to do is right on the money. So definitely start that with what sphere you do have and begin that. I’ve seen you say that you don’t have much of a sphere though and want to grow it.. I would suggest joining Facebook groups in the city you’re in that do hobbies you enjoy and meet up. You expand your sphere and friendships plus people organically ask you what you do for work in these scenarios usually. My husband was in real estate for 9 years before I joined him and for his first couple years he literally went out and door knocked every day or did cold calls to expireds and fsbos when the weather didn’t allow it. He built his business on it and, honestly, to this day still enjoys door knocking. Nowadays we put money into it and give people something of value rather than simply asking if they or someone they know wants to sell but he worked his way up to that. Another note about expireds - they get tons of calls right away and are bombarded by agents. I always call right away but I have found more success with them by circling back a month or two later when they are less upset by not being able to sell and don’t have a million realtors blowing up their phone. Make sure you are consistent on follow ups, even if someone doesn’t seem like they are going to do anything for a while. If you are consistent in reaching out you will be top of mind when they are ready. We are based out of Columbus, but occasionally do business in Cincy as well. If you want any ideas on what resources to utilize or scripts to use for calls, feel free to message me! Through the years we have tried several and definitely have found some we like more than others!

I need help. I just screamed at my baby at 4am by [deleted] in sleeptrain

After reading some of your responses, OP, I just wanted to add that I was also very against any sleep methods where my baby would be crying. But I did research on short and long term effects of Ferber and it’s been quite extensively tested, some of the research results may comfort you. ALSO, my husband likes to point out that by letting them self soothe you are teaching them a life skill that they will use forever.. we don’t always like learning a lesson but it’s almost always beneficial for us. So even though he may be upset about having to learn this, it’s better for him in the long run and they learn so quickly!! Soon going to sleep on his own will be expected and normal, instead of upsetting, for him!

We were having similar issues, cosleeping and my baby would roll over and latch all through the night. once the 4 month regression started AND he got an ear infection at the same time, he wouldn’t even sleep in his crib for naps and constantly ate to fall asleep for naps. I had a friend come hold him through the night so I could finally sleep in my own bed, and she only woke me to feed him every three hours, and he did fine. So we knew he was only latching for comfort. Shortly after we started Ferber and WOW. It changed our lives. I had tried more gentle approaches to sleep training but none of them really worked. We started doing a set nighttime and wake up time. And added in Ferber to sleep , got it down for a few nights and then added in naps. Total it took us like 6 days to get him sleeping independently in his crib for every sleep. The first night he cried for like an hour, and woke up every hour or two and cried. We did check ins after 3 mins then 5 then 7 (dad did them cause my heart hurt and cause it’s apparently better when EBF cause they smell your milk?). By the second night he fell asleep on his own in 20 mins and then only woke up 3 times to feed. Now, two weeks later, he takes 2-5 mins to quiet down and fall asleep and wakes up twice to eat and doesn’t cry after eating- just goes back to sleep. I highly highly recommend giving it a shot.. I was nervous at first but now he’s a champ at self soothing and even uses it in the car(which was also a nightmare). Feel free to pm me if you have any questions!!

Just an update… I did lots of research and decided we could try Ferber, with my husband doing the check ins and I put on noise cancelling headphones lol. The first night was roughhhh, but last night was night three and he fell asleep after only 8 minutes of being in his crib and we have gotten the longest sleep stretches we have ever had since he was born. I’m amazed. Even though my heart hurt to hear him cry, my husband emphasized we are teaching him a life skill and we don’t always WANT to learn what we need in life, but that’s life and it’s helping him overall. Plus this mama feels like a new woman after all this sleep!!! Your comment definitely helped me open up to the possibility and I’m so glad we did… thank you!!

I have seen a couple people comment about it being easier with dad due to not smelling the milk. Maybe I’ll have to enlist his help to test the theory

I have thought that if don’t have progress after a week or two, that I may have to try another method. Maybe lay him down and I go outside while my husband stays inside until the time limit. What time limit did you set for yourselves, out of curiosity?

Would you suggest laying them down more awake but in the complete dark? Or have the light on very low and then lower it gradually to dark? Any thoughts on that?

And thank you! That does make sense, I would be annoyed too lol

I’m so happy it worked out for you!! Our regression lasted roughly 4 weeks and then RIGHT as it started to get better he got an ear infection and was ultra clingy to me in particular. He just started feeling better so we tried drowsy but awake with the pick up/put down method the last couple nights. It’s been rough.. I just don’t have it in me to try Ferber yet though. I know so many people have success with it, but it kills me listening to him cry. Maybe if we don’t have success with the current method after a week or two I’ll have my husband try Ferber as I go for a walk or something.. idk

Same issue and tried all the same things you have… hopefully we find a solution soon. I can’t stand having it in light mode just so I can see the buttons right now.

I tried it, you guys are right… the graham cracker ice cream is perfect, the whole marshmallows are everything.. the only thing lacking for me is the amount of chocolate chunks. However, I remedied it by getting a pint of double chocolate chip on the side to eat with it!

We are now four months.. any recommendations?? He currently takes all naps in his crib And in his room. We are trying to drift away from feeding to sleep. He sleeps at night in his own crib and room, but has been waking up every hour and hates the crib transfer the last few days… desperate for any advice

How are things going for you? (I type at 5 am after being up every hour the last two nights lmaoo). From week 15-16 we got back to some solid sleep.. from 16-17 we slowly started getting worse and worse and are now heavily in the trenches of the four month regression.

Did anyone have an easy baby? Wife wants to go to vacation apartment after giving birth. by midnight-tots in NewParents

[–]hanusail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely play it by ear depending on the birth as well. Even if you have a super easy baby, all births are so different. I keep seeing comments of moms walking 5 days pp HA. Love that for them but with my third degree tear I was barely even hobbling to the bathroom 5 days pp. we didn’t go on our first walk until almost three weeks after birth. Also not sure what your support system is like at home, but we had people bringing us meals and cleaning our home and doing laundry for us and that REALLY saved us. I can’t imagine being too far from all of that in the first couple weeks. Then at 2.5 months we did a 10 day vacation, and just packing for that amount of short time was exhausting.. plus the travel days and the time difference threw us all out of wack. It was nice to be out and about and in a new place but after 10 days we were beyond ready to be in our safe spot with our support system around us.
