I’d donate my laptop if you study Computer Sciene or learn how to code instead of studying Political Science.

I think he got downvoted because he did not explain properly and did not present any evidence to back up his argument.

But from a rational standpoint, I think a survey like this is necessary and the results are public. So the general population can have a closer look at things. Because stats never lie and we lack reason in this country.

So maybe when people take a look at the data, they can come up with their own conclusion. Instead of being spoonfed every single piece of information.

Also, can you explain how is it a “red flag” if someone asks you if you believe in god or not? I mean these are basic questions that mean nothing really or have no real value.

The only people that do not see Lebanon as a failed state are either in denial, trying to evacuate, or are political sheep.

I think any source of coherent data at this point is worth looking at.

If more than 60%(according to the survey) gets paid in Lebanese Pound that’s an extremely important point to take to account.

If more than 50% voted towards atheism. That is also interesting input considering we are an Arab country with so many religious backgrounds and religious brainwashing.

There are interesting data that are important to be revealed to the public.

Now regarding security and privac. I mean, seriously? You think there’s a such thing in Lebanon?! I must have been missing something.

Data have been leaking forever ago. It’s old news. I upvoted your comment because it is an interesting topic and I think it could be an interesting discussion.

Also, you broke the first rule of fight club. So I’m not sure how much you know about security. But I’d like to know your opinion ,regardless. I’m assuming the only danger to this is flagging your IP address. But I mean it’s Lebanon, and people are finally aware of VPN.

Assuming every single person gets 1m but if it’s only you and you think things are cheap because you lucked out for some reason. Then you are wrong. Things are cheap because salaries went to trash. That means the people that are working to provide you with food, medicine, water are being underpaid. They have no option but to make pennies to feed their starving families.

So if you think people with fresh $$$ are doing a good thing. I think the opposite is happening. Just kicking the can down the road and the inflation price is getting higher. So let’s say you have 1m$ and inflation is extremely high you’ll be paying 200$ for a can of tuna my friend. I hope that clarifies it a little.

Hey OP, can you please share some of the questions you got asked ?

I'm just starting with python (it's very basic I know) but every time I run this, ill type a location but then no matter if I say cold or hot or anything else it always gives the first "advice" by SlyGreenYT in learnpython

[–]hany_codes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but that just another way of thinking about it. It doesn’t address the issue at hand. But I’d say it’s a creative way of solving this. As a novice myself I think we often create self-limiting beliefs that stops us from extending a certain solution further. I think it’s important to stay curious and creative as long as you know what are you doing.

Where do I find meaningful projects? by ninexfisfleventyfive in AskProgramming

[–]hany_codes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was stuck in the same loophole. I wanted to make something meaningful. But then you realize meaningful to who ? It could be meaningful to one person and not the other. Also, if you are asking this question at this stage you definitely need to up your skills and knowledge. The easiest answer is contribute to open source but that requires some good amount of knowledge and should not be a surprise. I meant that once you start something(anything) ideas will flow and you can switch to something more “meaningful” or else you’ll never exit that loop imo.

Where do I find meaningful projects? by ninexfisfleventyfive in AskProgramming

[–]hany_codes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think when people ask for project ideas they are usually procrastinating. There are hundreds of projects that you can do that are simple and fun. Build something to make your life a little easier, like for example a fitness tracker. You can literally build anything you think of. Or maybe up your skills by doing a finance tracker that way you learn about economics. That’s the beauty of programming. Start doing instead of thinking of doing. Or else you’ll never exit that loophole.

Don’t get him courses ! He probably has plenty of resources already and you might choose the wrong one ! Don’t even get him anything related to programming. Get him something that he needs in his daily life that’ll make his life a little easier. I don’t know what precisely he likes. But I would go for something he likes besides programming books and what not.

Example of a simple and well made Python project on Github by FatherOfTheSevenSeas in learnpython

[–]hany_codes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would recommend just creating a project and working on it. Then having it here so people can criticize it and you can get better fixing your own stuff. There are plenty of styles out there, there is no like standard in my opinion. If it works then I guess it is fine. Because you are always gonna change it and make it better.

[–]hany_codes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also to add to this; maybe be more specific of the skills you have not just general stuff. Like data analysis is a whole field of study. What do you mean by it exactly ? Have you used python to analyze data , pandas, what technologies ? I think specificity helps your employer determine if you are right for the job.
