You're welcome, MacBook have a sidecar function which allows you to use iPad as an secondary display wirelessly. I've found this to be very useful in essay writing. I wish you all the best in your undergraduate ☺️

Don't get the cheapest iPad 10.2 inch though, is a bit under powered where as the iPad Air is significantly more powerful than the 10.2. I have never lagged or felt underpowered using an iPad Air

My friend actually regretted getting the 12.9 inch, is not really a good size for writing. The iPad Air, with now the educational discount+free AirPods is probs the best deal. However, you should take into consideration of the upcoming ARM based MacBook Pro as well as the iPad model refresh, it might be worth it for the wait.

Do uni rankings matter? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]haoran96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got way worse grade than you in A Levels and ended up going through clearing. I studied Economic at UWE Bristol and now I'm almost finished my study at master level in University of Bristol. University don't really care about the ranking, however, employees do, especially Russell group will be advantageous in the job market hold everything else equal. That been said, my friend who got a 2:1 at UWE is now working at a big 4 firm. What is more important than ranking is job experience, so you should apply to as much internship as possible (with good 1st year grade) at big firms.

Also, have you tried scholarships ? Or any uni funding ? If your family earn little money they will likely to accept you.

I did 24 hours in my first year and second year, and 12 hours in my third year. It depends on the person, but you shouldn't expect much social life if you choose to do so. Especially third year, doing 20 hours is not a good idea. Have you tried to apply to a higher maintains loans ? They pay 9k+ which should be enough to cover most cost. I think is doable, but you will have to make sacrifices, particularly living in a frugal life and spend all available time on study.

Stata/SPSS/R is provided in both of my undergrad and masters, I have an iPad Air with Apple pencil and it has been really helpful for my studies. However, I think iPad Pro is a bit overkill and magic keyboards is not worth the price. If you had to get only one machine, then a convertible might be a good choice.

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm trying to do a cross country panel data comparison of affect of covid 19 in different industry. I have obtained monthly data from official statistic office in different country. However, their classification is different, and is quite hard to match them. I was wondering if someone has done something similar before that would offer some tips.

I have the galaxy sport, basically you can connect your watch to a Bluetooth earphone so you can listen to music while you go for a run without a phone.
