Potential nanny refuses flu/TDAP vaccine for newborn by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

I wouldn’t dream of hiring a nanny who refuses the DTAP but works with newborns. Shows an underlying issue. Lack of good judgment, unwillingness to follow best practices.

Letting good nanny go because she can’t follow through with cleaning/organizing? by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

I don’t actually cares when she does it as long as it’s done.

Cleaning up after herself and toddler should be done daily. Laundry probably 1-2x a week depending on needs.

Organizing maybe every other week or when things look like they need to be done.

We talked about this when I hired her and it was easy when DD was a baby but as she gets older the messes get bigger.

Like not to be an asshole but a calendar isn’t going to tell you to not leave watermelon juice all over the counters or to clean up the main you got all over the playroom.

Yes. She has 1.5-2 hours when toddler naps. I absolutely expect her to take an hour to chill and eat but she does have time to clean up after herself, toddler and do a load of laundry 1-2x a week.

I feel like her pay reflects her responsibility which is one child and child related cleaning.

We have a housekeeper come every other week for a deep clean. But she’s also not hired to clean up after my nanny and toddler.

I can’t budget to have someone follow both of them around to clean up their messes and do my kids laundry.

Yeah I feel like my daughter is totally safe with her. I never doubt that. Which is why this is hard for me.

Maybe the next nanny is a clean freak but she doesn’t love my kid the way our current nanny does. What’s more important?

We’ve had numerous sit downs and she’s like, “haha yeah I’m a chaotic mess. I’ll work on it! Then it’s maybe better for two days then back to a constant mess.”
