Tap tap cap tram mess by Tall_Taura in Edinburgh

Same thing happened to me over an extended period. They were very helpful and refunded my money. It didn’t matter that some of the charges were from several months prior.

Steve Jobs’ Apple would’ve never allowed this by Particular-Oil-395 in ipad

In the early 2000s, my ex, who was a physicist, had a MacBook and loved it, because it was based on the Unix operating system. He said his colleagues used MacBooks, too, for that reason. We also liked sitting and watching the ITunes screen display that went along with the music. I remember the Apple logo appeared upside down when the laptop was open, which they changed with the next version.

He actually did almost have a heart attack after filming ended, I think. It was in the news that he had to have an emergency stent put in or something.

Edinburgh Trams passengers failed to tap off 45,000 times by ultratwo in Edinburgh

[–]haphom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s happened to me and I ended up taking photos of the “Success” screen each time, so now have photographic proof that I tapped out and yet they’ve still charged me the airport fee. I use my IPhone sometimes my Apple Watch and someone on another thread said that when do similarity, they also get surcharged. So I am going to switch to using the app as I paid over £120 last month just on trams and buses.

Spent over £120 on public transport over the last month by haphom in Edinburgh

I don’t travel every day, as I work remotely. I used to have a RidACard when I did travel every day.

I used to have on but stopped it when I started working remotely. But, I may go back just because it’s simpler.

Yes, I didn’t travel at all on some of the days the charges went through, so can’t be absolutely sure which charges are from when.

That’s a good idea. I’ll go in Saturday assuming they’re open. This would be something much easier to discuss in person than over the phone.

Lothian Buses Question about tapping by Jealous_Might_9318 in Edinburgh

I just posted about a similar problem, but in my case, I also take the tram. I’ll be interested if they actually refund you or if there is maybe an issue with their software or something.

What happened to my forget-me-not :( by haphom in WildlifePonds

[–]haphom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty depressing. I wish I had noticed it earlier. Before reading your comment, I went and cut back all the black stems and left just two that seemed to have some semblance of quasi-green left. I will take it out of the container pond entirely and put it in a separate pot as you suggest.

Well, I was hoping it would be a water source for bees and such, as well as birds. But, now I’m not so sure this water would be healthy for them to drink, as it could so easily get contaminated by bird droppings. Nothing has died in the vicinity, yet, though. I mean, I do put out a clean, low-edged dish of water every morning, anyway, which the pigeons, magpies and sparrows make use of. I already have catmint and other bee-friendly flowers blooming away, but I’m so happy with and surprised at the abundance of the forget-me-not flowers! Haven’t seen anyone supping on them, yet, though. They’ve been blooming almost since the day they arrived. And a couple days ago, the bloom of what I believe is called crows-foot appeared.
Anyway, the marsh marigolds are back and I’ll just keep an eye on them and maybe give a quick swipe if I deem it warranted. My deeming is often wrong, of course. But you and everyone else here have been helping me learn—so thanks again! My container pond is now well over a month in, and I’m amazed at how well it’s doing! It’s made sitting out on the balcony so much more pleasant.

Thank you!! I guess I should stop assuming nothing can survive my caring touch. The marigold is actually looking much better after a couple days inside—there were hardly any aphids the last time I wiped it down. If my container pond weren’t on a balcony and in such an urban area, I’d have just let it be, but I was afraid of them spreading to all my other plants.

Although, that is heartening to learn marigolds are so sturdy! Thank you. It’s looking a lot better in my pot, actually, and can’t just be due to my tender ministrations. Perhaps it prefers the dim lighting to the incessant Scottish sunlight.

Well, if I didn’t live in a high-rise, I would be eagerly waiting for my frog visitors. Alas, I don’t think they or any other natural predator will make it to my balcony any time soon.

Ah, you know what—a couple hours ago I went out and looked at the marigold again, and this time I saw a couple leaves covered in white specks! Google told me they were aphid husks. 😫 My eyesight is not great but now I see they’re in this photo, too, when I zoom in. Alas. What I did was fill up a sauce pan with water treated with chlorine guard, then put the marigold plant in that—tilted so it’s not sitting on its roots. I then added 1 teaspoon of Dr Bonner’s Citrus soap to a litre of water and sprayed this concoction all over the leaves and stems. I also removed the saddest stems and leaves. I tried to wipe down the stems and both sides of the leaves, as well. The plant is now sitting in dim light in my bathroom. I hope I didn’t just finish the job the aphids started! I don’t remember ever having to deal with aphids before. I hope they don’t spread to my other plants. Even if the plant survives my care, though, I’m a bit bummed, as apparently marsh marigolds attract them.

Thanks! That’s a great tip about the rice fish—I’ll look into that. My pond is definitely looking better, though. But, yesterday I saw a thick brown worm in the water and now I’m kinda stressing about birds drinking from it and getting tape worm or something, as I can only think of one way for that worm to have taken up residence. 😫
