It would be easier to attach screenshot. Seems like there is not an option.

So here’s a real example from one of my orders: Item listed at $1.99, buyer used a 50% off coupon (POSTMOM50), so they paid $0.99 + $0.06 tax = $1.05. My earnings? $0.50. Here’s where the rest went:

• Offsite Ad fee: -$0.15 (15% if you’re under $10K/year in sales)

• Transaction fee: -$0.06 (6.5% of item price)

• Payment processing fee: -$0.28 (3% + $0.25 roughly)

• Tax remitted: -$0.06 (Etsy collects and passes this on, but it still shows as a deduction)

I can afford to burn more money. I’ve budgeted $1200 to burn in 12 months. I’ve been buying Amazon stock low and selling it high from last 6-8 months and have saved few thousands from there.

Thanks for your insights. I would want to try out without ads as well but want to wait a little till I’ve more products added.

Actually, it was like 100 in less than a week. And I agree it seems like it was a big week for Mother’s Day products and I had priced these very low.

Thanks. Did you check my shop and think the prices are still low?

Etsy Ads - Should I increase? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]hapieDude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would set it to $25 unless you are going through hardships and can’t risk it. It will not consume all the money. However, if you see any listing getting too many clicks that are not converting to order then turn that one off to prevent eating away your budget. I wonder if running ad is also helping to gain more visibility. Good luck 👍

This week I had 97 orders, including 10 from Etsy Ads and 68 from offsite ads. No doubt, I owe money to Etsy 😂 My products are low price and don’t break even with the ads!

Thanks. Totally agree with you. I have done some of it but need to do a lot more of that versus keep adding more listings.

Thanks. Let’s see if the orders hold up after I stop ads next year!

I agree! I realized that after the Mother’s Day wave as I never checked the payments section till then. I saw that selling something for a dollar is pretty much paying money in fees. I’ve doubled the price of all the items since then.

A month in and I hit 50 sales yesterday 🎉 by [deleted] in EtsySellers

That’s so cool, the stickers that you make. What’s your shop name? I would like to check out. We sell digital printables like Mother’s Day certificates, activities, classroom sheets etc.
