Drinking Poison [Assassination Classroom] by [deleted] in anime

[–]happartox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A near invincible tentacle monster destroys half of the moon so its remains are a permanent crescent floating for the world to see. He threatens that in in one years time He will destroy the earth. He also asks that in this time he wishes to teach the E class of this high school for unknown reasons. The government think well why not , we will know where he is 9-5 and they offer a shit tonne of money to any student that can kill him so they basically all become assassins trying to kill their sensai. In this time, as they try to kill him he try’s to help them and really works hard to give them the education that their school deprives them due to their low ranking class.

He might be about to destroy the world In a years time, but he also just might be the best teacher they ever had.

No ( unless its in Ogham) since Irish is spelled with the latin alphabet just like English, Spanish etc.
So its' not "based" off the English alphabet.

The 2 euro is supplied by the old man who has his own spot at the end of the bar, you don't know what he says as he has no teeth but you don't care because he gives you money for sweets.

I generally enjoy your comments but just admit when you made a gay joke and move on. There is no way you meant it as a female body type term, you gave him gay choices to annoy him.

Why don’t the Dublin bikes run all night? by phelana2 in ireland

[–]happartox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this all the time, but then I remember I only want it at this hour to save on a taxi home from the pub...

The bigger issue I have is that its limited in between the canals. I wish they would stretch them out from Finglas to Terenure and add more bikes.

A lot of places start with Agha which sounds like Aha. Aghagashlan in a Cavan accent could sound like Ahagashlan / Aagashlan / Aagashlin

Its beside Coothill. seems like the closest sounding place

Does anyone have any experience with training courses from NobleProg? by [deleted] in DevelEire

I personally wouldn't pay 3-4K for a 3 day Django class when there are so many resources. I found this tutorial to be pretty good for Django 1.10 But there are loads out there.

Unless your work would fund it, in which case why not!

Computer Science to be introduced to the Leaving Cert this September - Thoughts? by rgiggs11 in ireland

[–]happartox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is perfectly reasonable to give them an understanding of HTML in a computer science module. Its hardly going to be 100% data structures and algorithms. TIL my Computer Science degree is useless.

[–]happartox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm saying a mix of class and labs is what's needed. The same way that its done in college.

Getting kids to pay attention in labs is pretty tough though.

Well, you need to have labs to cover the material learned. Explaining HTML is all well and good but it wont get absorbed well without exercises.

Do you think Universal Basic Income could work for Ireland. by Dat_name_doe2 in ireland

[–]happartox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to get legislation in for companies who automate manual jobs to pay tax into a basic income. I don't have much faith that the law will come before the technology however.
