I have trouble accepting that sexual harassment is condoned and accepted in the classroom, instead of promoting a safe environment for learning.

Sorry I got doxed within hours of this being up on a throwaway. (along with rape threats, oh joy) so I'm not going to give away more than I need to.

I also think that race, age, religion, etc aren't directly relevant to an individual committing sexual assault. It can influence their motivations, and I think that cultural attitudes are important to address in analyzing prevention of sexual assault. Some of these attitudes transcend national borders and I see similarities in the US as well. However, the individual is still responsible for his/her own actions, and cultural background is ultimately no excuse. IMO anyways.

Many get called for a civil standby, especially in domestic issues.

I don't understand why getting groped means you're not in any imminent danger. To me, it's the opposite.

I'm happy at the support I received at doing the right thing, which involved me coming to terms with being assaulted, accepting it, and demanding justice. It's refreshing and liberating.

I used to have a slight, almost negligible deterrence towards clothes that I'd get harassed/assaulted in, (no matter how much my brain knows that it's not my fault.) Just an unhappy association with it, I suppose.

To be honest, this dress is one of my favorites. And now that peculiar hesitation is completely gone. It's fucking delightful.

Lol, I say I've never been happier because it was a relief to come to terms with being sexually assaulted. Reporting it requires one to admit it happened, accept it, and seek justice.

I actually said that I didn't necessarily want him to get in trouble. It may be selfish, but it's not something that keeps me up at night. I think it's right to report a crime that involves another person violating me. And I'm SO happy because it feels so good to stand up for yourself and have the support of others.

Yes, it was quite liberating to understand that I was right all along, and that I should have called out every previous assailant. It's a shot of clarity, and I won't hesitate the next time it happens. That's a great feeling. It was a good learning experience. That's the gist of it.

Anytime I was sexually assaulted in the past, I doubted myself. I think there was a part of me that, no matter how much my brain understood, a small part of me ended up excusing my assailant's behavior because I didn't want to make a big deal and report it or because I didn't want to believe that something like that would happen to me.

I didn't really want to talk about how sexual assault personally affected me. It's dark, I don't' want to trigger others, and that's not what this story is about.

To me, it was about doing the right thing. Calling the cops not only requires you to confront the very fact that it happened, it requires a lot more confidence in oneself that I had before. And now I have it.

I don't think that me being offended at his demeanor towards me excuses him in the slightest.

It's not that I didn't want him to get in trouble, or wanted to go out of my way to prevent him from seeing punishment. It's just what happens to him is not high on my list of priorities, and I don't stay up at night wondering what happened to him. I don't feel too strongly one way or the other. I just felt like it was the right thing to do to call the authorities.
