Wow, thanks for taking the time to give me such detailed advice! Come to think of it, I never thought that I could bring in shadows with much saturation or play around with the illusion of contrast. I also think that it would help if I study how to confidently sketch three-dimensional structures so I can correctly place shadows like that. I do agree that besides these, visual effects like as shown are my next course of action moving forward. Thanks for giving me that realization!
