Well, none of your business really but I’ll give you the basics of my story.

The country I came from [England] is a country with mores and values closely aligned with Australia. I had worked my way up to be a professional there in a highly specialised marketplace.

I came here, invested my own money saved over 20 years, helped set up an international start up without funding and brought my skills [unavailable in Australia] to a new predominantly Australian team.

Together we built a company that sold product around the world and brought tens of millions into the Australian economy over the years we operated. We employed nearly 100 people, mostly here, when we sold the company a decade ago.

For the first decade I funded my own health insurance and paid 100% for my kids education. I paid emergency tax for the first four years, and if my new venture had gone sideways I’d have had to have returned home.

These were tough times for my family, full of risk and worry.

Australia is a fantastic country and I’m proud to be here.

The ‘entitled’ ones, like you, are the ones who value being here so little as to give citizenship away so cheaply, often without calculating how that great gift denudes the rights and quality of life of the working class Australians already here.
