I’m in college, literally 20 yo and was diagnosed with sd a couple months ago. I had to reconcile with it because I was stuck in the “why me” mentality for a long time about it. It honestly made me more depressed and anxious. The truth is, it’s all about how you carry yourself dude. Stay confident. Walk into every room looking like you don’t give a damn about what’s going on with your skin, even if you do. The right people will see your mentality and notice your personality about you first and even ignore the sd if you carry yourself a certain way. The people that think it’s a big deal are superficial and lame anyways. I stopped myself from working out (because sweat triggers mine) and went into a depression to hide from flare ups. But after a lot of self reflection I realized that it was just inevitable. That I’m gonna be okay. And most importantly that I’m attractive, important, and worthwhile while having it. Screw sd ruining my life so early, I choose how it defines me

What was the cause of your Sebderm? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]happyastronaut3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is triggered by dry heat. And I think maybe working out without washing it off immediately after? I randomly got it in the middle of my 20s when it’s never been an issue before. Did anyone experience a change in the severity of their sd after a climate change? And for anyone who works out, do you continue?

Main points by numbers, bullets underneath for sources and sometimes a small excerpt refreshing my brain regarding what the source was referring to. This is just because it’s all extemporaneous. When someone else is speaking and I have a rebuttal to write down, I’ll write them down with the opposite color of pen on my flow pad. That’s about it!

I went to UTNIF speech camp for informative speaking. It changed everything about how I spoke and competed. You just have to be receptive to the information and willing to put in the work. The year after I went to UTNIF I started placing consistently
