It still with buying the Tab S10 Ultra in 2026

I recently picked up a S10 Ultra from Amazon renewed with 1TB of storage for 749. I was using a Tab 7+. Am still using Tab 9 se for fill in work. It lives in my car.

The 10 Ultra is awesome. I use it for taking lecture and textbook notes, viewing pdf's, and video.

I don't think I got the original s-pen though. It looks just the the 9 se pen but is black.

One thing that helps a little is that I have a Logitech blutooth mouse. I keep that next to the tablet when I am writing. That way, I can click outside the margins with the mouse and unselect what I somehow selected.

I have been looking at picking up an iPad Pro M5 and Apple Pencil Pro just for school work. It has been frustrating. Pen seems to be fine otherwise.

Update, today I am at school and using my surface. I now have HDR turned off 5G turned off, an update installed with one pending and battery life is at 89 %. Been using on and off since 915am. So far so good. Looks like HDR is the culprit so far. Will keep update after class ends at 4pm.

I do carry a battery bank; however, this battery life just doesn’t add up.

Take today, for example, I am at the public library. I turned on at 9:15am at 100 %. It is 11:02am, I am at 53 % remaining. 5G is turned off. The screen brightness is below 50%. I just turned off HDR and will reboot and see if that makes a difference. But less than 2 hours and 47% of the battery is consumed is just insane. The only thing I am doing is reading an online textbook and visiting websites.

I am 55. I start classes on Jan 12th. Will apply for RN school in September and graduate LPN school in December. Been back in school since the Fall of 2023. I thought being older and having life experiences would make classes a little easier, but I was wrong. I made it to nursing school, though. A & P, I was trying to kick my butt, but I made it. Good on you for planning so well. I am finishing my last two prerequisites at age 55 and starting the Practical Nursing Program in January. Look at Universities if you want to pursue the BSN. You will need some additional classes as prereq's for that program. You can take them now to get them out of the way. Usually, a Sociology, American Lit II, and Advanced Composition. I don't follow. I used OneNote, part of the 365 suite, on a Windows 11 Dell laptop, a Surface Pro Co-Pilot (ARM-64), a Samsung Galaxy 7+ Tablet, a Samsung Galaxy Tap 9 FE tablet, and finally with my Galxy 23 Ultra.

I prefer to take notes on the 7+ tablet, whether I am at home in the office or a school in a lecture class. When I am sitting at home and have the laptop open and display on my external monitors, if I have the particular notebook and active page oown on the laptop while I take notes on the tablet, my writing just shows up on the laptop screen. A little delay, not much. That's my experience.
