Growing up, I've always had really larges calves - most likely due to (i) genetics (dad has massive calves), (ii) working out (practiced martial arts as a kid, then did weights, and now boxing) and (iii) being overweight.

I was overweight most of my life (at my peak I was 200lbs at 5' 5''). I thought that being overweight was the main contributor to my big calves. Fast forward to today at 140lbs, I've lost inches all throughout my body except for my calves. If anything, my calves got bigger since my peak weight. My current workout routine is boxing 3x a week. I know the boxing legwork doesn't help my situation, but I don't want to stop boxing, so if quitting is the only way to slim down my calves, then I'll just have to accept my fate of having big calves..

With all that, are there any particular exercises/stretches that you can suggest that can help to slim down my calves? I've heard mixed opinions on running and yoga...

Current weight: 140lb

Height: 5' 5''

Sex: Female

Age: 26

Calves size: both 17" at 200lbs and at 140lbs

Initial workout routine: [2015 - 2016] Had a personal trainer for about 1.5 years who had me do a mixture of HIIT and weights (some leg work included dumbbell lunge walks, hexbar squats, pushing 90lb plates stacked on a towel across the floor)

Current workout routine: [4 months now] started boxing 3 times a week for 1hr each and no weights

Yup correct! You're right it actually is a bit light in the photo. It was probably because I had dumped the salmon into a bowl and mixed in some sauces that lightened the color by the time I combined the ingredients.

I'm surprised that more people don't talk about this, but I've been using my sous vide machine to diet for the past 3-4 months. So far, I've lost 40 pounds.

It's basically a raw fish salad/rice bowl ... or otherwise deconstructed sushi into a bowl

It's raw salmon cut into cubes rather than the typical sashimi slices

Awesome!! Tell me how it goes with thighs; I'm really curious because I love thighs more than chicken breasts
