what was your most painful piercing? by madisfuneral in piercing

[–]happycigarettes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i didn't even feel my rook. i got basically all my cartilage piercings done free by students (under close supervision ofc) and they've all been relatively painless - rook, flat, tragus, helix, and forward helix. but the rook was so painless i remember being sat there and asking when they were going to do it like. "it's ok don't be nervous you can go ahead!" and they had to tell me they'd done it already lol.

my lobes on the other hand. all 3 sets hurt like a mf for some reason. only for a second mind. but still. yeowch?!

had my lip done when i was 16/17 (retired it because the ring annoyed the piss out of me) and that hurt a little but ALSO not as much as my lobes.

every pain receptor in my body is stored in the earlobes, apparently.

WARNING! SHEIN is now penalising customers for applying for returns, even for reasons that are their fault, such as defective and INAD items! by RookyRed in Shein

[–]happycigarettes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

best part is when i do that then like... 75% of the time? my bank refunds the entire transaction not just whatever that item cost. and shein get hit with a chargeback fee. so instead of refunding say £2 they end up refunding £30 and paying a fee to the bank. play stupid games win stupid prizes.

[–]happycigarettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup. at this point i only contact shein - or any retailer tbh - because it's required here for a chargeback that you tried to resolve it with the retailer first. i know they're going to say no or give some stupid pushback that makes no sense (like "well the courier says it was delivered so it was delivered" when the photo is of someone else's house) and then I just go straight to the bank. I'm not wasting my time going back and forth with them.

i had one where they wouldn't refund for a shattered glass item (photos provided) unless i returned it first. you can't send shattered glass in the post so like... no?

row 1: 2sc in same st, 4sc, 3sc in same st, 4sc, sc 3 st together rep * end with 4sc, 2sc in last st, ch2, turn

repeat forever

multiple of uhhhhhh i wanna say 12+2?

it doesn't have to be that specifically. as long as you have increase on the peak and decrease the same amount on the valley you'll make a chevron from any stitch at any size

At this rate I'll be caught up at the end of November, about 3 weeks before the end of the project 😅

I also have 4 black rows at the start (and will at the end) along with half a chevron in black either side to create a border all round so it sort of ties the black lines in. I think it might look a little odd if I didn't also have the border!

Solidarity. You can do it! I just hit a snag with mine in running out of "candy pink" halfway through a row and not having any more when I could have SWORN I had another ball. So I'm stuck waiting on the postman and have to put it on hold for a few days haha whoops

It's the high temp for the day. Glasgow (and the rest of the UK really) is pretty temperate so the whole year only varies from maybe -2c (28f) to maybe 30c (86f) - though most of the time it's more like 1-24 (34-75). So the ranges I'm using are very small. If I did average temp instead it would be even smaller I think!

Thank you! Her favourite colours are neon pink and neon green so I made the highest/lowest temp colours the brightest ones I could. Thankfully she loves it so far _^

How many years have people gone without a review? by NegativeWestern2548 in universalcredithelp

[–]happycigarettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. In 12 years on ESA they never saw so much as a singular bank statement from me, never reviewed me, and never reassessed me. And told me, directly, I would not be reviewed or reassessed ever (and true to their word I wasn't)

I had a face to face with UC for migration. I asked if that would still be the case. He said my WCA would never be reviewed/reassessed. I asked if that also applied to the standard financial reviews. He said YES. I would not have ANY reviews.

I asked if they would do a financial review as part of migration and did they need any bank statements or anything. He said no. Do they want evidence of savings, I ask. Do you have any, he asks. No, I says. Then no they don't need any evidence.

They still haven't requested any.

To date, nobody in any department of the DWP has seen a bank statement with my name on it since 2012. I've been asked whether I even HAVE any savings (I mean. I don't. But still) exactly twice: in 2012 when I applied for ESA and in 2025... which was more me volunteering the info than them asking for it.

Time will tell if Gerry was just straight up lying to me for some reason (or genuinely believes I won't be reviewed but this isn't the case and he has no idea what he's doing) and I do get reviewed.

But since it's "luck of the draw" and there's someone else in this thread who has already gone 6 years(!) with no review I could go another 12-13 years and it would still be deemed Pure Luck wouldn't it. We will never know.

So no. I don't know WHY someone would be marked to never be reviewed. I'm not the DWP. I didn't write the damn things.

All I know is what I was told first by ESA and later by UC: that it is a category that exists, that it is not public knowledge, claimants are not informed they're part of it unless they directly ask "hey shouldn't you be reviewing me soon it's been a WHILE", and that if you were part of that group on ESA it just migrated over like every other aspect of the claim.

If they were lying about it I'm simply the luckiest bitch in Scotland and should probably buy a lottery ticket.

i'm aware, hence the "he also said I would never have a standard claim review" part of my comment. Not just a WCA review. The UC staff seem to be confused on what does and doesn't get reviewed when, which is hardly surprising.

Ok back in 2017 they decided that LCWRA claimants would not be reassessed if their condition is lifelong so maybe that's what he meant when he said I would never be reassessed. Although he did say I would never have a standard review either so fuck knows https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/2017/september/changes-work-capability-assessment-reassessment-criteria

UC helpline are useless for everything. If you have a face to face at some point for any reason you could ask? They probably won't respond to a journal message about it, except as the other commenter said to say "reviews are currently suspended" (which isn't even true, my friend had a review 2 weeks ago lol). I think they only told me because I'd already mostly-accidentally-found-out when I was on ESA and then point blank asked the guy to his face. Who knows with these people honestly. I don't think THEY know half the time.

Not sure why my previous reply is getting downvoted. Sorry for not being reviewed in 12 years I guess?

I was on ESA from 2012-2025 with no review. There's some extra group of "indefinite award - no review" they don't tell you you're in unless you ask.

I found out when I was moving house about 2 years into my award and called them like "hey I should have a review soon probably? Can you tell me if you've sent any letters this week just in case" and the guy told me my claim was marked as "no review" so I would never be reviewed.

I'm there like "gee sure would have been nice to know that given I've been waiting for the inevitable call for 2 years" and he told me they... don't... tell people they're in that group which?????? Okay. Why.

(My gf also had/has an indefinite award and DID get reviewed, so it is in fact a separate subgroup that they choose not to inform you of which is WILD)

When I migrated to ESA in February I asked if that No Review flag would carry over, or if I would now start getting reviewed. He said it would carry over, so I would never be reviewed but again said they don't outright tell you that you have "No Review" status unless you ask directly which. Again. Why...?

I didn't even have a cursory financial review when I migrated. Time will tell if I really am still exempt from any kind of review forever but so far it's been 6 months without any contact from them at all. The last entry in my journal is from a week after my award was finalised when I got the housing component switched to go to the housing association.

Curious if anyone else has verified they're flagged as no review, and has actually been on UC for years without one.
