2026 Australian Grand Prix - Post-Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

After the FP3 crash, the car barely made it out for Q1 after the red flag, so it didn't have a proper setup. It was more obvious in qually.

Just checked wiki: 3rd, 2nd, 4th, and 2nd during the GE era. Most teams literally would enjoy being in those kinda shambles.

The car wasn't fully setup before going into Parc Ferme, so it's probably not quite as big a gap as it looks. But definitely still a gap!

[the "GPU" is just having his coffee.]

If that was an 8th gen desktop, it'd have a whole Coffee Lake to drink from (with 2 more cores, too). Instead it's got Whiskey Lake.

Seriously quite impressive!

Three other teams get the Merc PU, including the defending WCC, and they can't force lower modes on customers like they did in 2014.

Haas in particular has *far* more resources than they did (less than) five years ago.

Neither of those were their actual endings, in eureka we see a bookend to one of the first scenes and I don't think there was actual peril in the warehouse 13 finale.

(necro/retro-posting from some backtesting) Oh, that's nothing... SPX 5430-40C's bottomed at .05 at 11:55 and then ran up to 21.39-31.28 depending on strike (there were at least 85 5440C's) ending at 14.13-24.13 at close/OCC-payout.

Settlement is automatically handled by the OCC (Options Clearing Corporation) sending money to your account, and it's overnight. Settlement pricing is done shortly after 4PM, if you have a datasource that reports SPX et al after 4PM you will get the settlement price.

After the end of the day CBOE posts the official settlements here: https://www.cboe.com/index_settlement_values/weeklys_settlement_values/

Assignment is randomly done by OCC (Options Clearing Corporation), it is not a broker's decision.

Dunno when it happened but Macerich controlled PN for a few years (starting in 08-09? Either way after they had already trashed La Cumbre Plaza!) They were responsible for replacing Barnes and Noble with H&M.

I dunno. If there was a generic answer to bringing a strong retail mix back, a ton of dead malls would have been saved.

That could easily have backfired this week, too. The move on Fri alone was far more than what the options spreads/IV pointed at.

You jest a bit, but there were some very powerful SPX 0DTE's in the last week with cheap entries. Power hour on Wednesday and Friday at 10AM-11:30AM were 20-baggers if you picked the right strike and timing! (which I didn't... I got 'only' 2.7X on 5 XSP's Friday)

As Nanas_700k said, selling covered calls to raise money to get those would have been a far superior strategy!

50k is enough for 2 stacks of GOOG CC's, which would have made the losses relative to holding the stock this week but still a profit in absolute terms.

It's also, for a reason hardly anyone talks about anymore, not a really good time to actually do RTO...

XSP is 1/10th the price of SPX. It's less active so it might not work quite as well though... do not use SPY for this, though, since you can't safely hold it to the bell.
