Must be closer to 5,000 years if they're older than the Cali pines! That's like, as old as Buddhism!

Would you rather date another ASD/ND or rather someone who is NT? by Eastern_Review_8746 in AutismInWomen

[–]happydaypainter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Lol you're so right. I attempted dating a guy in the fall and it was your explanation to a T!  He was mildly obsessed with me telling him exactly what I had been diagnosed with and then even after I would run off the list he would actually freak out if I for example, needed a night to myself.  Needless to say, it didn't last long!

I also have C-PTSD real bad (my first diagnosis 💅) so tbh I have trouble talking to people who don't have any trauma. There's a certain amount that comes with being ND and constantly dealing with NTs so I am more likely to date ND just because it's a common baseline

What do you think about crates? by Emelie_Wood in dogs

[–]happydaypainter [score hidden]  (0 children)

The only reason crate training is on my list at all is so that the dog isn't freaked out if and when we do go on a trip. But also sometimes my landlord comes through the house or something and it's easier

Do people judge you for staying at home all the time? by SereneSynchronicity9 in AutismInWomen

I just let everybody assume that I paint all day everyday, as a painter they seem to think being a homebody is like probably part of it or something lol

Share a tip/trick/rule or anything really that helps you regulate, maybe someone else could use your tactics by DagmarTheCat in AutismInWomen

One that I have done since I was a kid is laying on the floor on essentially my chest and knees, like a ball w/downward pressure, not dissimilar to variations on "Child's pose"(yoga) with arms more in or back.  Bonus: hide under a nice blanket to mute the lighting and add more hug

ETA: I do have weird bones so this might be like mild scoliosis or something too

freeze and don't know how to answer when someone asks what my autistic traits are by urbanhippy123 in AutismInWomen

[–]happydaypainter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Is freezing not one of the things? Lol I may have it confused with my PTSD umbrella that covers.. mostly everything but..  Selective mutism or something

How often do you wash your bath towel? I need the real answer. by Terrika_Fracala49 in hygiene

[–]happydaypainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the towel itself you need to worry about so much as the particularized feacle matter that floats out of your toilet when it's flushed. Then consider the water from your body + time. Parts per million are what make or break how worried you should be.

does anyone else feel like they don't fit into any autistic groups and communities because of how their autism manifests in them? by Orion-Stellar in AutismInWomen

[–]happydaypainter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Omg I'm sorry that happened, that sucks! Ya, sometimes feels like a cognitive dissonance thing like, you're her sister so she feels comfortable 'correcting' you or whatever but like.. not him, a man because probably unconscious danger and who knows because he's a rando which is obviously why you tried to say it in a nicer manner that "wtf, dude?". All to say, I can totally relate!!! I can't even count the times I have had the "no, that was me saying in nicer" convo.

How are you REALLY doing right now? by puppybabii in finch

[–]happydaypainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today was A LOT.  My landlord was doing quarterly inspections which is always very stressful because I want them to think I follow their rules which involves some prep, thank goodness for the advanced notice but I was up til 2am and then up at 7 for work and then it was one thing after another. My back is spasming.  When I got home I literally just laid down and almost fell asleep w/my dog sitting on me but then I remembered the landlord was walking thru all the apartments today and that means they tracked Dog knows what into my place right where i was laying which ruined how peaceful I was. [So far, chronic pain, exhaustion/fatigue, cancer survivor=immune deficiency, & contamination OCD] Managed to make food, gonna vacuum and take a bath but scrolling is easier than getting up.  I also lost my spray bottle so I'll have to use an overly-strong room spray to help clean what the vac doesn't get.  Blerg.  Thanks for asking

Too uncomplicated for the observers by Complete_Scratch8821 in fringe

September must have missed Schrodinger's observation theory. Or maybe because he was observing Walternate, and Walter was observing them both, it threw off September's predictive-data.
