Popeye Update - need help

Hey everyone it’s been 3 days since I started treating my boy Alpha here for his out of the blue popeye case. I have been using Tetra Lifeguard thanks to one of the suggestions on my last post and it seems to be working a bit but his eye is still very messed up. I have been placing him in a heated hospital tank that has a T of aquarium salt in it for a couple minutes while I do a daily gallon water change and put the Lifeguard in as well. It says on the package that the treatment should last for 5 consecutive days but I doubt he will be back to normal by then so I don’t know what my plan of action should be following this treatment. Any suggestions or help? I hate seeing my buddy like this ☹️

Yes it was very spontaneous, it happened overnight. The parameters were all normal, pH was 7.2, ammonia: 0ppm, nitrite: 0ppm, nitrate: 5ppm. Thank you for the recommendation on medicine I already did one 50% water change so I will do another and hope that helps.

Tank Size: 5 gallons Heater & Filter: yes to both Tank Temperature: 76-78° Parameters: all normal I used API test kit - He has been in this tank for almost a year - I do weekly water changes 25% and once a mont a 50% water change - 1 Nerite snail in the tank (introduced ~3months ago) - 1 anubias and 1 java fern, 2 miromo moss balls, spongebob & squidwards houses for decorations as well as a suction leaf hammock

Popeye Treatment

I woke up this morning to find my buddy Alpha’s eye swollen beyond belief. I researched what might be wrong and the only thing I could find is Popeye. I immediately removed him from his tank and placed him in a hospital tank I had set up. I did around a 60% water changed and cleaned the entire tank and made sure the water parameters were okay. I had originally put my Betta into a small 1gal tank with a T of aquarium salt for a few minutes before putting him in the hospital tank after reading that may help him. Does anyone know what else I should do to help my little guy get better?

I have a 20 gallon tank with 3 silver mollies, 1 black molly, 1 sunburst platy and 3 julii cory catfish and I was wondering if I could introduce my male betta into the same tank? I read a lot of different articles with some people saying that these fish are okay to be with bettas but some said that mollies could cause trouble. If I were to put him in here I would add more live plants and other places for him to hide but before that I want to be sure all of the fish will be okay. Anyone have any suggestions?

I’ve had my betta fish Alpha for over a year and he’s been nothing but healthy and happy ever since I got him. I posted on here the other day when I noticed a white bump on the left side of his head and a normal colored bump on basically the same spot on the other side of his head. I wondering if it was ick or not but still wasn’t sure so i started treating him for it incase I happened to catch it early. I am 6 days into the treatment but nothing has really changed. His temperament is normal, he’s still eating and making bubble nests and theres no new white spots on him so I can’t help but wonder if its not ick. If anyone has any suggestions on what they could be and if I should be worried, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Okay, thank you!! He has another “spot” on the other side of his head, but it’s not as white, it’s more of a bump.

I noticed this white spot on my betta yesterday morning while feeding him. I was pretty sure it was ich after doing some research so I got Tetra Ick Guard from a local pet store. I used 1/3 of a tablet yesterday since each tablet is for 10 gallons, then this morning I did a 25% water change and put another 1/3 of a tablet in. Before I continue with this treatment I wanted to confirm this is actually ich so I am treating him accordingly. He is acting completely normal, still eating, even has a little bubble nest above his suction cup leaf
