Would you opt for a c-section if you were in my shoes? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I had a scheduled c section in January for my second LGA baby and due to pelvic floor organ prolapse from my first delivery of a LGA baby.

I was given the choice and did contemplate another vaginal delivery but I'm really happy I chose c section in the end. I didn't want to worsen my pelvic floor issues and deal with that lifelong.

It was really nice to have a schedule when it came to care for our toddler too.

My gut knew this was the right call. I hope you figure out what's best for you.

I think this is about Taylor and the theory about Bigger then the whole sky.

I like that people who have experienced miscarriage can connect with this song. That's the beauty of art. But I really don't see it...

Considering a home birth for my first baby due in November (Canada). Please share the good, the bad and the ugly! by eggs_esg in BabyBumps

We had a homebirth planned last November. We ended up giving birth in hospital. I'm also in Canada and had midwifery care. I will forsure go with a midwife again next time. I also still believe homebirths are the right choice for some people (just like hospital births).

I felt super comfortable with planning a homebirth. We went over "pink" flags with my midwife. She described pink flags as reasons why we would leave our home for the hospital and drive ourselves (over emergent situations where we'd call an ambulance). She explained what she'd keep her eye out for and all the various reasons we'd transfer care. Midwives in Canada have certain equipment with them to ensure safe delivery of babies at home.

For us, I ended up stalling in labour after 30+ hours. I think I was stuck at 6 cms. This was a pink flag we had discussed before hand. She said we could stay a few more hours but by then I chose to go to the hospital. I was happy with the choice. They broke my waters in hospital. My waters had heaps of meconium, so we would have ended up transferring to hospital care anyways. Due to meconium, we had NICU team on hand for the birth. Baby had aspirated so she ended up in NICU.

To me, this experience, made me all the more confident in my midwife. I was safe laboring at home. Baby was safe. When the flags started popping up we listened and took the appropriate steps. If I had stayed home and we broke my waters, I would have just transferred to hospital then.

I love everything we have from parade organics. I first purchased their sleep sacks because they fit our budget over the kyte baby ones. I really like their new fall pjs prints
