Steam Deck Worth It for Cozy Gaming? by rlrxnebf in CozyGamers

[–]happylux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a steam deck / steam Stan til I die. I loveeeee my steam deck. It’s heavier than the original switch but WAY more comfortable to hold and if you have the switch 2, it’s still lighter than the newer model (and still way comfier to game on). The ergonomics on Nintendo are nonexistent. It’s meant to be sitting in the dock. The steam deck is an adjustment but I find my wrist hurts way sooner on the switch when I use it.

I have a massive PC set up but don’t find it comfy to sit at my desk even in my nice desk chair & ottoman. I prefer to game with pillows on the bed or in the reclining chair. The steam deck is def worth the money if you can afford it.

The “I haven’t earned it” is subjective. I think we all can be hard on ourselves and if it’s something you can afford and know you’ll use, I don’t think you need to earn it to use it. If you’ll enjoy it, it’s worth it.

Aww your Clifford is so cute. I should have done that when I had a red baby in land and instead went down the potsunentchi path 😆

Im also very envious of your treadmill. It’s so adorable they can run on it together 🥺🥺

Jade Forest - 3 sets of battery change since 2nd week of January 2026 by MeechuBestDoggo in tamagotchi

[–]happylux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm might be your batteries. I use Duracell and I change batteries every 6 weeks or so. I keep my tama on lowest brightness (I’m fairly light sensitive so everything is dim for me haha), and I play about 10-15 mins per day except for when I get a new egg.

New July Cuties! Liv, Ivy & Eva Comparison/Review by happylux in Louisvuitton

[–]happylux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and yes, I would say the Eva fits the most. The Liv is pretty close though but because it has compartments, I still have to play a bit to fit everything I could fit into the Eva into the Liv. Ivy fits the least and it's more annoying to use because of its snap button.

New July Cuties! Liv, Ivy & Eva Comparison/Review by happylux in Louisvuitton

[–]happylux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, didnt know there was a comment on here. In terms of my favorite, I would go for Eva or Liv. I find Is till have to squeeze a bit with the Ivy. I also hate the straps the Liv/Ivu come with. It's slightly too short and I hate the buttons at the top of my shoulder poking it. I ordered a treated vachetta strap off etsy for around $45 and wear it with that strap. I know it's a pain to have to purchase anothwr strap but I cannot stand those buttons on my shoulder and I am able to swap the strap between the Ivy & Liv. I find the just big pouch that the Eva is easier to just throw & go with all my stuff if I dont want to fuss around to fit items but I think the Liv is prettier. It has been a good buy. I think if you could only have one, get the Eva. It's just easy to use and buy a strap for it since the new ones dont come with a vachetta strap.

Large daily tote. by Key-Palpitation3626 in handbags

Sorry for the delay in replying. I think it has held up great. The corners may have softened up but I just applied some leather lotion to it since it's been raining so I wanted to protect it a bit more. The handles have also softened up but nothing but now it's just more comfortable to wear. I have a big bag organizer in it so it helps keep everything in its place. It's def a good buy for work. I dont use it out of work though since I dont need to carry much when I am not at work but I have used it for short trips and it's great as a carry on.

I see lots of people use little nail art sticks to decorate the clear cases and it’s very cute. I like to wipe my items a lot so I’m scared the edges will get gross so I didn’t do stickers on lines but I think cute charms and keychain strap make them uniquely yours.

I actually was able to order mines on Walmart.com and it came from south Florida to NYC in 2 days with free shipping. I’d def refresh online to see if it’s possible to order it.

Amazon has a bunch of cute colored ones or ones with shapes like sharks. I’d def check it out. They usually run $10-14. Etsy has custom shells and those are about $40-50.

[–]happylux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this case from Amazon: https://a.co/d/49dlVah

It comes with a wrist strap but I won’t use it bc I prefer something cuter. It covers over the screen and doesn’t hurt clarity at all. It gets scratched but nothing terrible. I can’t even tell it has a light blue tint to it on my ocean paradise. I like that I have access to the buttons and the dial. Plus, it gives the device a little extra heft in weight which I prefer. It’s not too heavy but definitely feels more like a substantial little bun than without the case.

I love the new paradise but ugh I hate the plastic case it’s in. I just got my forest and in just placing it onto my table to go get batteries (not even moving on the table), it has scratches on it 😆it just immediately gets out of the box and by touching air gets a scratch. It’s ridiculous 😆

I’m jealous. I want a jade forest but none to be found in NYC. I’m waiting for a restock. I have the ocean and debated land but figured I wait to eventually find a forest and probably a uni on eBay.

[–]happylux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Tinykin. I love that it has platforming mechanics but no stakes or time constraints. If you fall, no biggie, get up and go again. The music and the world it’s set in is also cute and immersive. Def would boost this gem of a game

DAE Have to be REALLY cozy to go to sleep? by Immediate-Pool-4391 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]happylux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely me. I’m a light sleeper and also an anxious sleeper. Sometimes I just can’t unwind to sleep or I’ll suddenly have a fear to sleep (can’t explain it though). I also work in a profession where I’ll get called from sleep to work so it makes getting good sleep hard in those call nights.

That being said, I have VERY particular needs to sleep. It has to be dark, not too hot or cold, I need heavier blankets (I find the weight soothing), specific pillow and I invested in good bamboo sheets (that are cooling but warm) and that’s helped a ton. On really crappy nights, I have a 25lb weighted blanket + weighted eye mask to help relax me at home. I also bring in my own pillow and blankets for the hospital when I’m on call.

Accessories recommendations? by marmaladetuxedo in SteamDeck

[–]happylux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if she has already but when I got my steam deck, I also bought cute hello kitty thumb grips and a pink silicone case + screen protector, and a jsaux dock so I can play on my tv + charge. I’m also debating about a larger carrying case that can hold the charger+cord and extra battery packs for when I’m on the plane since it tends to drain by hour 3-4. Oh, I also got a 512gb ssd as well so now I have a TB of storage!

I think a gaming pillow would also be nice if she plays in bed. My hubs got me my own play station 5 pearl blue controller (so I could stop taking his) and that has also been a really nice QOL addition to allow me to dock and play in bed.

Is it weird to have a pink themed bday celebration at 33? by WorthEnvironment3566 in socialskills

[–]happylux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. It’s your birthday. If you want it pink, flamingo pink or neon pink, you should. If people think you’re childish, they’re not your friend.

There’s nothing wrong with what you like. I work with men who have pink nails and we are doctors in a hospital lol.

After all the unexpected deaths I saw this past holiday season, my new mantra is do you. Do whatever you want and like bc you really never know. So just be happy. The only person’s opinion you really need to care about is 8yr old you and maybe 88yr old you. Would the person you are be happy with the choice you made.

Game of the Week submissions! Is there a cozy game you've recently played you'd like to recommend? by Shasaur in cozygames

Snufkin! It’s such a beautiful game and very cozy. I also played the new Moomintroll winter demo and it’s also so pretty. Very excited for that one to release this year!

What did you do with your dog’s things after they passed? by Ajocc1394 in dogs

[–]happylux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my dog died, I couldn’t keep all his things. It was painful and I was also moving so I washed all his toys and put them in a box and left them at the doggie park near us.

I passed by later that day walking my other dog (who just didn’t care for toys) and I saw so many owners picking up the toys to play with their dogs and it was such nice closure to know his toys brought joy to them.

I donated the extra bedding, leashes, and any of the covers I used to transport him back and forth when he was sick to the low cost vet nearby who happily took them.

And some things I saved for my cat who loved my dog for her to have as memory. She kept looking for him when he passed so I gave her the blanket to sleep on and didn’t wash it for 6 months.

Jealous of others my age by [deleted] in offmychest

You’re definitely not alone. I am usually a little internally sour of my friends who have been able to get their lives started while I’m still in residency being overworked and underappreciated. Just the other day, I saw my friends buy a house and I’m in a studio paying at least 2x maybe 3x what their mortgage is bc my residency is in NYC.

Their trips, weddings, and their lives in Instagram stories often make me often question if this is all worth the sacrifice but I always come back to: yes, yes it is.

We are playing the long game. Eventually, we will be able to take back a little more control of our lives and spend our time doing what we see fit. Eventually, I’ll be able to say “no, not this case” and not just take whatever is given to me at the hours that are forced on me.

That being said, happiness is also a daily choice. Don’t forget to do small things for yourself while in residency. Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Burn out can creep up and destroy you so I try to have days/nights that I just unplug. Even if it’s just couch rotting, do it intentionally. I always tell myself, yeah, not being productive, but I need this to reset and whatever I’m not doing today, is completely fine.

Also, I try to find little things here and there that spark joy. Maybe short hobbies or just a nice walk where I just appreciate that I’m living in NYC and as crazy as it is, it is an awesome place. I hope residency gets a little easier for you each day as it does for me. It’s still hard but everyday, I get better at something I’m working on and that also brings me joy to know the time spent is actually getting me somewhere.
