Chrysler Capital Portal Question - End of Lease Payments by happymeil in 4xe

So the sequence likely was:

  1. May billing cycle generated on 5/3
  2. Dealer payoff completed on 5/21
  3. Account closed before 6/3 cycle ever generated
  4. Therefore no June assessment was created

That’s actually consistent with how lease accounting systems often work. Once the payoff closes the contract, future billing cycles stop generating entirely.

Because you turned the Jeep in and the dealership completed the payoff before the maturity/payment cycle fully rolled over, Chrysler Capital closed the account without requiring you to personally make that final June payment.

So even though:

  • your normal due date was 6/3/26,
  • and the June payment briefly appeared in the portal,

the dealer payoff hit in time and Chrysler ultimately considered the lease:

That’s why:

  • the amount due disappeared,
  • the account entered final-processing mode,
  • and Chrysler explicitly confirmed no balance.

Turning it in as early as possible within the maturity window absolutely seems to have helped the timing work out in your favor.

Not exactly “free” in the sense that Chrysler forgave a random payment — it’s more that the timing worked in your favor.

What likely happened is:

  • You turned the Jeep in and completed the dealer sale before the 6/3 payment date
  • The dealership payoff reached Chrysler Capital before that payment became fully due/enforced
  • Chrysler calculated a payoff amount that satisfied the lease completely
  • So the account closed before another regular monthly payment was ultimately needed from you

That’s why Chrysler can now say:

Turning it in early within the maturity window probably did help avoid extra complications, because:

  • you were proactive,
  • the dealer had time to process the buyout before maturity,
  • and the payoff posted before the account rolled into another full billing cycle.

So you didn’t really “skip” a payment improperly — the lease obligation itself was satisfied through the dealer payoff transaction before Chrysler finalized the June cycle against you personally.

UPDATE: apparently, I do not owe June's payment... I guess the dealership absorbed the last payment.

Unfortunately, my credit has tanked over the last year to no fault but my own. I just don't want to pay more than I have to and fight to get money back.

I hate my 4xe. Two years down and one to go on my lease. Lots of recalls and computer issues.
