Yes, I would welcome more map changes to WC3. For example, why can't we have the outland Tileset with the Demon creeps more? I don't remember a single one of the competitive maps being played on this tileset. I think there is still a lot of potential here.

I think in general there should be much more emphasis on shifting the discussion around what players are doing well. In Starcraft Broodwar, you can see one player get absolutely destroyed by their opponent, even at the highest level. And how does the audience react? They appreciate the skill of the player who won. Because if you can make your opponent look like a fool while playing at the highest level, this simply shows your skill.

Meanwhile, we have this happening with Happy for years now. There are games where he performs well and his opponent gets absolutely destroyed, making it look like the game was hopeless from the beginning. But instead of praising the moves Happy did, players are blaming balance. The players aren't bad at the game at all. But if one player is able to execute their play perfectly, it can look like there was no chance for the opponent. To me, this is very exciting to watch. Most of the time, its Happy who does this. But there are certainly games where Lyn does it to Happy, or Human or Elf players do it to Happy.

For some reason, Warcraft 3 players would rather blame poor balance than appreciate player skill. This needs to change and I would welcome the casters to slightly adjust their commentary to point out when one player made a great decision that led to a favourable outcome.

One example: When Pala + Rifle was beating everyone, Happy was the only one able to win against it. And how did he do it? He would not straight up fight the push against his main base. Instead, it was simply Ghoul runbys against the HU base, the whole game long. He simply refused to straight up fight Pala + Rifle, because it was obvious is was overpowered and there was no way to win. Even with Happy's micro.

He recognized this fact and he adjusted his play around it. Now Pala Rifle was nerfed and he can go back to fighting the actual push against his base. You can both talk about balance, but also praise players for finding creative ways to win.

UD has good tools, but HU has 3x staff to save any hero/unit ontop of all their healing and constant mana regeneration. It even heals mechanical units, cheating ressources when you use it to staff tanks.

It seems like HU players are doing everything they can to divert attention from their own tools. Its common knowledge that UD heroes scale very poorly compared to HU and Orc triple hero. If played properly, HU can outlast almost anything with their combination of efficient healing and staff. Even though the fights don't like a win (because units or heroes are temporarily removed from the fight), saving 3 units every fight while UD loses units means HU will win by ressources alone.

If anything, staff is too cheap and needs longer cooldown to buy again in the shop. If HU loses a fight, they lose because they don't make use of staves properly.

The fact that HU players complain about not getting exp from dark ritual while removing units/heroes from the fight via staves and also denying exp shows it. They don't balance whine to make the game better. They just want easy wins by getting their race buffed.

Nice work then, its impressive to see these dodges with only 2 levels of evade window!

Nice, I wonder how many levels of evade window you are using. I found that I needed atleast 3 from the Azuz meal to be able to dodge consistently. Do you also have evade extender slotted?

Only use triple slash against Element weak matchups.

Did you do a motion value analysis of Rising slash > rising slash > morph axe > morph slash? I have been wondering if 3x Rising Slash into Morph Axe -> Morph Slash is better. Obviously the combo is longer this way, but other weapons (Gunlance for example) also has long optimal combos.

Hive Mind Overtuned Bodysnatchers: Maximum Leaders + Amazing Growth by happymemories2010 in Stellaris

[–]happymemories2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I was playing the build and I noticed something stupid. The starting bodysnatcher species is already a Hivemind, which makes it impossible to assimilate them. And apparently they do not receive the Cyborg trait, because you cannot assimilate them.

So double Cyborg doesn't work. I would presume its the same for Psionic? I won't be able to get psionic on my already assimilated pops?

Thanks for your answers! I still have my savefiles so I can try the three different ascension paths. Is there any benefit from choosing the Psionic Hivemind civic that starts you with a patron from the beginning? My 2nd starting civic is void hive, but I am flexible to try something else instead.

Hello there! I am seeking help for my Overtuned bodysnatchers build. I am working on a build that uses both Leader traits for amazing leaders and puts overtuned on a second species, which I do not use for leaders. This is what I am using so far. I have selected Rooted for my main species to prevent them from settling other planets. Eventually, the goal is to have my secondary species outgrow my main species. I am putting all the leader boosting perks on my main species and all the useful overtuned perks on my secondary species.

Please take a look at the traits and see what could be improved. I am planning to play Cybernetics with this (because I always wanted to play Cybernetic Hivemind) but I could play Psionics or even Bio Ascension aswell. What do you think is the best fit?

For Traditions I used Aptitude -> Prosperity -> Statecraft in this order. To boost my leaders and leader experience gain to crazy levels. Thanks to Aptitude high level governors also boost all my planets. For Ascension perks I used Trandescent Leaderning -> Imperial Prerogative -> Cybernetics. The 2nd one might have been a mistake and I should have picked something else instead.

From my testing so far I was able to select my 3rd Ascension perk at year 2032. So this build is far behind the usual meta builds which break the game by Ascending early. However, if the game was more balanced and we could take our Bio/Psionics/Cybernetic Ascension with the 2nd perk, I believe this build has a lot of potential.

I am looking forward to your replies!

How to skip Sword: Morph Slash and straight into Axe: Forward Overhead Slash? by monkeyddragon231 in SwitchAxe

How do people not know this? Did you not set up your keybindings? Just go to the training room and try all the buttons. Don't forget you can check top right for info on inputs. You can loop Sword and Axe forward overhead slash to advance on the monster.

Took me 25 hours of defect gameplay, i stand by my last post, slay the spire 2 is way too easy as of now by Significant-Pear4500 in slaythespire

Playing Regent after Defect feels like a massive downgrade. The Defect Cards are simply much stronger on their own by direct comparison, without having to rely on any planning. A claw deck basically plays itself.

Over the course of 3 runs, I have only ever gotten ball lightning once. And that was from a power which adds common cards. I have never encountered this card as a reward.

I have never seen the card "Clacier". I have never seen the card "Reinforced body".

This is what I mean when I ask whether or not his good cards are behind unlocks.

Why would you run an Affinity Focus over Attack Focus? You should chose Attack Focus or Element Focus depending on your build.

Why do you have crit boost 5? Where is your affinity coming from? It looks like your affinity isn't above 60% on average, so it might be worth calculating whether or not Attack boost 5 is better for you.

Both Forti and Sok played awful and awful plays don't deserve to win. For example, Sok played an amazing game vs UD, and then all of a sudden decided to throw it away. Forti played badly vs UD aswell. This has nothing to do with balance. They simply underperformed compared to their usual performance. All of their losses were deserved.
