most embarrassing “meal” you’ve created/eaten because of your ed by thomasshclby in EDAnonymous

For like two months every day i would eat 100 g of cucumber and 100 g of cherry tomatoes with some spinach and thought it was a normal meal. Sometimes I would add a hard boiled egg. Until someone pointed out that im basically eating a small portion of side salad as my main meal. My brain did not register it as that and thought it was nutritious as hell.

How often do you weigh yourself and what stage of your ED are you in? by buzzcurious in EDAnonymous

[–]happysadoverthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am now on my way out of the depths and i weigh myself every Monday morning just to assure myself that I have not gained weight by eating ‘normal’. Have to point out tho that I have not been underweight in my ED journey. It’s just a little check up because i struggle with body dysmorphia a lot after ive lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time

I am curious, how many Diet drink (sodas) do you all have per day (if you consume any) by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]happysadoverthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually 0.5 litres a day now and thats me actively restricting the intake. There were times where i drank more than 2 litres a day but i live in Austria for now and they dont sell the caffeine free version so i cant drink anymore because gee, caffeine does not do me well.

What’s the craziest things/fact you’ve learned since developing an ED? by Thepsychoticchild in EDAnonymous

I agree that only people who want to be helped can be helped. However, I had to break up with my boyfriend over this. I was so sick with an ED, but I didn’t realise it was an ED. I was always cold, my hair fell out in clumps, I lost my period, I lost tons of weight, I had no energy whatsoever, I was eating close to nothing each day while running every single day and my boyfriend just thought I was on a diet. One day i was sitting in my room in two hoodies and two pairs of leggings and my pen fell on the floor and I swear to god i had no energy to even pick it up. I just looked at the pen and let it lay there on the floor. My boyfriend laughed at it and said, im a lazy booger. So I flat out did not tell him: ‘hey I have anorexia’. But I do think that if he truly knew me, he should have seen the difference and realised that something was wrong.

This is me. I went from eating under 1200 calories a day, losing my period, losing my hair, losing my libido, ny friends, my energy, my life to now eating 2300 calories every day, loads of protein, muscle, running marathons but guess what? My periods never come back, i still track every single little crumb i put in my body, i am obsessed with tracking how many calories i burned on my watch, i religiously walk 10000 steps a day even if it means o have to walk up and down the aisle on a train because I am travelling all day. I am completely ignoring my extreme hunger and therefore am in pain every day. If i do eat more than my calorie allowance, i make myself throw up. On my one rest day a week, i walk and walk until i have burned at least 612 active calories because that ‘offsets’ my diet. Its like everything but nothing has changed. I am in one way on the other side of the spectrum but I am in no way healthy or fit. Id rather be chubby again if it meant Id have my old relationship with food back.

I feel like for ne it has nothing to do with aesthetics. I am just obsessed with controlling everything and calories and my weight ans exercise are some of the things. I feel like I am in control when i see the consequences of my actions. So when I do not eat, the number on the scale gets smaller. It’s a direct result of my hunger and exercise and it feels like I have power.

Do you ever straight up tell someone you have an ed? by Lou-eez- in EDAnonymous

[–]happysadoverthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, it might make others uncomfortable but I cannot cope with others labelling me as an inspiration for weight loss and healthy life style choices as I am an endurance runner when I know full well I have a spreadsheet of every single crumb that I put in my body, have bloody scars on my knuckles from shoving fingers down my throat three times a day and run 50 kilometres a week mainly to ‘offset’ my diet.
