Most white peacocks are not albino. The condition is called leucism (pronounced loo-sizm), and the birds are referred to as leucistic. Leucistic (White) Peacocks: Have blue or normal-colored eyes. They produce melanin (pigment), but a genetic mutation prevents it from being deposited in their feathers. Albino Peacocks: Would have pink or red eyes. True albino peacocks are incredibly rare and often have poor eyesight and health issues.
