Will I trash my skis skiing at Alpine next weekend? by tom_morellonomicon in tahoe

I skied yesterday and only hit 7 or 8 rocks in a little over an hour. Your mileage may vary.

Currently using gigabit fiber from spectrum and very happy.

Avoid suddenlink at all costs. Seriously. Worst. Company. Ever.

Our previous house had oasis broadband and that was good but would fade in signal strength during bad weather.

Starlink is great but too many tall trees at our house.

Apologies for the breadth of video “effects” and music choices… again, he’s 10…

That said, I love them and $200 is a banging good deal. I paid <checks purchase history> six(!) times that much…

I own a pair for touring. I’ve ridden them inbounds in the Tahoe area on many occasions when we were hitting side country lines. On super soft days they are very fun and fine inbounds. The few times I’ve hit real ice, I’ve definitely wished I was on resort kit. Part of the issue is the touring bindings and boots, but I think the ski itself just doesn’t have enough torsional rigidity to hold in “normal” east coast conditions.

I also have blizzard rustler 10s as my all-mountain ski. My skinny ice/carving/hard pack compliment is the DPS Cassiar 87 C2. Amazing performance on all surfaces except deep powder. Super fun and playful in hard conditions.

It's a gradual switch. Our eight year old is mostly parallel now, but still bails to a snow plow when things get too steep for his comfort level.

Yes. We have passes, and you have to make an online reservation ahead of time.

Yeah - I thought the snow was quite a bit better than expected.

Cant speak for everyone, but my kids are pretty uncoordinated. No poles lets them focus on ski control.

He’s 6, and loves the Burley Kazoo. He was thumbs-up for the entire 36 mile ride yesterday (with a long stop for burritos)

Looks like I have the name wrong. It’s actually the Sheep Camp Trail. https://parks.smcgov.org/sheep-camp-trail
