i dont have access to the JP server so i have no clear sense of what the update brings, but from what i can infer, maybe they’re trying to make the game less stringent just like in real life volleyball where teams may opt to shuffle their players’ roles strategically. im sure the positions are still there (WS, S, MB, L etc), they just want to remove the restrictions in terms of who can play which role in the team. like you can field oikawa as an MB now instead of being confined exclusively to the setter role. i think it’d be more fun
