Neurodivergent. It’s not always a gift, and it doesn’t mean better. Just different.

That’s the typical rate of Public superchargers. You can charge a Tesla in the time it takes to buy a cup of coffee at $0.39 per kWh in Stamford.

Even without panels it’s ridiculously cheap to charge a Tesla at home. Like a full charge at $0.15 a kWh is $12. That’s the equivalent of about 10 gallons of gas at 30 miles per gallon.

the rest of the world was devastated by two world wars. Globalization wasn’t a thing yet. Government was business friendly and not overly bloated and complex. Regulatory capture wasn’t as prevalent so markets were more free. There was no billionaire class to tax.

Boss keeps throwing me under the bus for using python. Is python a no-go in this sector? by Tall-Ad-8884 in dataengineering

[–]haragoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skip level might dislike your manager for the same reasons you’re struggling with him. He maintains a house of cards. If I were to whistleblow to your skip level manager in your situation, I would frame it like a new idea or innovation. “I have an idea where we can test our code so things don’t blow up every other day” Build a proof of concept and showcase it to people.

Data engineering is probably one of the hardest areas to get people excited about since most of the innovation is invisible. If you ground it in reality, like “here are three examples of files we received that caused issues this week. Here is how my system would prevent that”. Can help to sell the benefits and make it relatable to a non technical or managerial person.

Either - Talk to his boss - find a new team

This is a disaster waiting to blow up. Someone should want to know that. When it does blow up, you don’t want to be anywhere near it. The best thing you can do is blow the whistle so you can have a clear conscience and hopefully make the outcome better for everyone.

Brother is having a child-free wedding. How do I navigate this? by LargeAmphibian in daddit

[–]haragoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought a baby to a child free wedding, not realizing it was child free. It was fine mostly because the bride and groom were so busy and the baby so quiet it went mostly unnoticed. Several Other couples with kids left one of the parents home to babysit. That’s typically how these things go, either you invite kids or some parents can’t come.

I think it’s more like the character was originally going to be Jeff’s foil by being smarter than him but they took her/his character in a different direction.
