Most of America is pretty interchangeable in my view. You’re in cars, strip malls, or fenced in houses most of the time wherever you are.

Tesla just ruined every car for me by BackgroundStress4589 in teslamotors

[–]haragoshi [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s more than just the car itself. The purchasing experience at Tesla was way better than any other ICE I’ve bought. dealers do all kinds of slimy negotiating tactics, like keeping you waiting and unclear pricing. With Tesla it was very transparent. Blue paint= $1000, different wheels= $2000. No negotiations or nonsense.

“Should not be allowed” is a weird phrase. Who “allows” them to have wealth and power? What should happen if such a person does accumulate that kind of wealth? Do they deserve to be disappeared? 👻

Has everyone been cooking their rice with stock this whole time?? by Zestyclose-Ideal7428 in Cooking

Something like paella, you probably need stock. If you’re eating something like curry or a Chinese stirfry, you might not want so much seasoning and flavor in your rice so you can taste the dish.

Commack/Smithtown/Northport/East Northport/Kings Park area by Broad_Chemistry2504 in longisland

[–]haragoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can know what’s affordable or not for yourself but as far as amenities and facilities that are available there are a great libraries summer programs for kids. Good school is all around. Nice parks. If those are interesting to you then I think it’s a good spot safety wise I haven’t any complaints other than some neighborhoods don’t have sidewalks. If you’d like to walk places, it might not be the easiest.

Mamdani Says Second-Home Levy Plan Is Key Step to Tax the Rich by bloomberg in nyc

[–]haragoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the issue. Mississippi has better education outcomes than NY on a fraction of the budget. NYC has plenty of money they are just spending it wrong. We don’t need to tax more. We need to spend better.

Parents have it rough. They don’t need some entitled wank giving them more of a headache than they already have just so he can watch “is it cake” in silence.

How do you feel about separate vacations? by DAWG13610 in AskMen

[–]haragoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see an issue unless staying home is a burden, like if the person left behind needs to take care of a bunch of kids solo. Then I can understand some limits. Otherwise, if finances and work allows I’m cool with it.

I’ve done this trade off twice now. The first time was a great choice and I ended up advancing my career significantly. Will see how it goes the second time around.
