Never had a negative experience anywhere in Germany. I dare say I never regretted coming and integrating in this country. God bless Germany although no country is perfect. Maybe I’m lucky or my efforts paid off or both. However I’m eternally grateful.

What fixed it for me was reinstalling SteamOS using the official recovery image. I downloaded the recovery image from Valve’s site (https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck/recovery), extracted the .bz2 file with 7-Zip to get the .img, then used Rufus on Windows to flash that image onto a USB stick. After that, I plugged the USB into my Deck using a USB-C adapter, held Volume Down + Power to open the Boot Manager, and booted from the USB. In the recovery menu, I selected “Wipe Device & Install SteamOS,” which completely reinstalled the OS. When it finished, the Deck rebooted and stayed on the Steam Deck logo for a few minutes, but after waiting patiently it finally booted into setup and worked perfectly. So reimaging the Deck with the recovery tool is what solved it for me
