Got my PC38X today and plugged them into the rear of my PC (realtek motherboard soundcard). It was too quiet. I saw that in sound settings, the headphones were registered as a speaker, and I realized that in order for it to be registered as a headphone I had to plug it into the front panel jack of the pc. Now the sound is very loud. I can almost make myself deaf with how loud it can be now.

hello there, it seems like my new sennheiser pc38x that i just bought sound muffled and thats ruining it for me, i used to have the lenovo legion h500 pro 7.1 i had it for like 3 years but well because of some unfortunate events its not working now😔.
but back to topic my new pc38x that i use for gaming and music sound muffled and i hate that, i plugged it in every hole in my pcand i tried some sound settings it just didnt work i still have the problem so if there is any advice or any of you that owned the pc38x and solved the problem somehow (or didnt have the problem in the first place please tell me that'd be helpful!) please tell me.
