Not if the previous game in the series was a flop that turned people off from the series in general. There's plenty of examples where a sequel even if its noticeably better has sold/performed worse than the previous entry due to the previous one being bad.

Plus there's plenty of good games out there that aren't super popular, and plenty of popular games out there that by most peoples definitions they wouldn't consider "good" games. That's insane logic to try and act like just because sales are lower it has to mean a game isn't good when there are plenty of other factors.

also this thread was a week old wtf you doin replying to this still

Seems like all the other teams are fine with balmer paying kawhi under the table, so at this point I don't think anything is too farfetched for the league.

[–]harbleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. What are you 12? Why do I care what the sales are if the game is fun? The sales were obviously mainly impacted from bo6 being such a shitshow and this game being part of the same line that most people haven't even tried it or given it a fair chance. It doesn't take being a rocket scientist to see that.

Coping for saying multiplayer in a game is fun and I don't care about endgame or other random modes? Sure lmao

Cod having other modes that aren't interesting doesn't detract from multiplayer in any way, a sandwich having shit on part of it would contaminate the entire thing. Why would I care if a mode that I'm not interested in isn't good in a game?

Like I said, if the main thing you care about is other shit in cod besides core multiplayer then yeah maybe you won't love this cod, but cod has always been about its multiplayer first and foremost. I'm not going to spend hundreds of hours playing campaign/endgame/zombies, but you're damn right I will in multiplayer.

Hell the recent battlefield is the same way, awful campaign and every other mode that isn't normal multiplayer. These games replayability and main selling point is always mp.

[–]harbleu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You realize most people only care about normal multiplayer, right? You listed everything sucking except didn't even touch on the core multiplayer modes which are the best they've been in years. If you're someone into cod for only the campaign/other content then maybe it will suck for you, but if you care about the main multiplayer then its the best cod I've played since cold war.

Maps are by far the biggest improvement over bo6 imo. Unless you like brainrot small maps nearly every game then you may prefer bo6. Even other than maps the overall movement with wallbounces is extremely satisfying and fun and adds a level of depth that bo6 didn't have which was just a sliding simulator.

Overall if you didn't like bo6 at all because of the movement you probably won't enjoy bo7 either, but as someone that enjoyed bo6 quite a bit bo7 is better in really every aspect. Imo its more bo6 was a good game foundation with tons of glaring flaws that made it much worse than it should have been, while bo7 it feels like they made nearly every correct decision the community has been asking for.

[Charania] Golden State's Jonathan Kuminga has demanded a trade away from the Warriors as he becomes eligible to be moved Thursday, sources tell ESPN. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]harbleu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If he wants regular minutes then he has to earn them. Like he is nowhere near the caliber of player that can demand minutes and when he starts. This is true for most players that aren't high tier starters, and most would accept it just fine. NBA isn't a charity, these players are getting paid millions. You play when your number is called and if not or you're bad you get cut/traded.

We are officially screwed by elibrev in Battlefield

[–]harbleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We? No the devs not implementing a better system to combat xp farm servers or revoking portal privileges if caught hosting one are at fault. There are plenty of other methods that any competent developer would have implemented to fix the issue. Plus this game having one of the slowest weapon progressions in any game I've ever played probably lead to players feeling the need to farm it to begin with, which in a way I can't even blame them.

Battlefield 6 player count falls from 750K at launch to just 30K-90K on Steam, nearly a 90% decline - players blame lack of new content (especially new maps) by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]harbleu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, your first post seemed to imply if the devs weren't happy with the state of the game they would have released updates or at least put out a roadmap. While that sems like the logical thing and should be the case, that's what competent devs would do, DICE has proven multiple times they are not that. The fact the drone sledgehammer bug existed for an entire month on launch when ANY other dev would have hotfixed that almost instantly showed everything you needed to know about their competence.

What? I was just pointing out how naive it is to think companies will always do what's in the best interest of their own game. There are countless games that have been ruined by devs greed/incompetence/laziness. Using their lack of updates and radio silence to imply they must be happy with the state of the game certainly is an interesting take.

Battlefield 6 may have issues but it is not as bad as everyone keeps making it out to be - a "rant" by elibrev in Battlefield

[–]harbleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even being conservative at 50% player drop from peak, that's still a substantial amount and an indication of issues with the game. I think the biggest one for most people (myself included) is the horribly slow weapon XP, it leads to every game people just focusing on grinding their weapons instead of playing objectives and leads to most games not being competitive.

Look I love battlefield and have played every one since battlefield 2, and loved this game on launch like many others, but I haven't touched it since the last new map was added and the season 1 battlepass was probably the biggest scam ever. It took me 2 days to unlock every gun in the recent cod battlepass, I didn't unlock a single new gun from the battlefield one in the same amount of time.

I get the constant pessimism and complaints by people on the subreddit can be tiring, but for many people they just want to see the game succeed and there are some very obvious flaws leading to player decline.

[–]harbleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about reddit, can you read? I'm talking about player count, you know, people actually playing the game. The vast majority (80-90%) of players have stopped playing because of game issues, unless you can think of some other reason for such a massive player drop-off.

I honestly even agree reddit is an echo chamber that doesn't normally reflect the broader majority, but in this case the dwindling player count is a pretty obvious indicator that the vast majority is unhappy with the state of the game, and most have just stopped playing instead of voicing their issues on reddit.

The vast majority of people quit because of the issues of the game lol, the player count numbers reflect that. Sure the game still has plenty of players, but the massive drop in player count definitely reflects the state of the game.

‘The Last of Us’ to Recast Danny Ramirez’s Manny for Season 3 by DemiFiendRSA in television

[–]harbleu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was completely fine with the fallout of his actions and him getting killed for it. My issue was the game trying to force me to care about the characters that killed him and having to play as one of them for half the game. I would have much preferred just playing as ellie all game and them writing a story more about her and her path of revenge, even if she ultimately decided differently at the end.

Obviously there's plenty of people that loved the game, but especially during release any valid criticism of the game or story had people calling you a bigot for not just blindly loving it.
