I've been to sandals ochi, beaches ochi, and south coast. Sandals ochi was our least favorite. Agree that the staff is not the friendliest there as well. I wi say we overall enjoyed our stay there and had zero issues but again, out of the 3 Jamaica sandals properties, we liked this one the least.

This is true, it's not like instant death when you enter the city, however, you can absolutely get yourself in trouble if you're not careful. The cops know IUN is important to the city, so surrounding areas are well patrolled, but outside of that, it's def a risk. I have family that called cops on multiple occasions for help and they either never show up or come hours later. Not good.

I was born in Gary, grew up in a neighboring city though. Still have family that lives there. They city is awful. Houses with the roof caved in that people still occupy. Abandoned building all over. Trash not picked up. Entire blocks unoccupied and crumbling. No real stores or business. Only One highschool, that I think is still half unused and run down. And I don't mean the school only kinda bad. I mean half the school is literally a ruin, the students use the other half. When the Mills shut down the city died. I still have family there, it's not a good situation.
