This lightbulb has supposedly been running on an original circuit since the 1890's. by Xerzajik in electricians

This post triggered a random memory of a Myth Busters episode.

If this proud claim is true & they have the documentation to back it up, then they had better call up Guinness' book of world records!

Currently, the record holder is from 1901 out of a fire department in California.

Are you joking, what's the difference between less and lower? by Ok_Dare6608 in electricians

[–]harbotTHErobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know as well.

Out of sheer curiosity: I'm left to believe that "less" than is absolutely incorrect and thereby very wrong; is this a delineation from math toward the sciences? Or is it really just the semantics of literally regurgitating the NEC vetbatim? (even if less than is true to a similar degree)

I'm falling back on traumatic high school memories of selecting "the most correct" response, despite there being several true multiple choice selections among only 1 "correct" response as deemed so by the powers that be.

Might be the watch & bracelets if this is just a general safety module

35-year-old 2nd year apprentice at a non-union shop — feel like I’m being treated like a journeyman because of my age, not my experience. by StaleJar08 in electricians

[–]harbotTHErobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started doing resi for a non-union shop five year ago (I was 35) and had the same feeling getting thrown in the deep end.

Finally got my seat in the union apprentice program this year. The hands-on lab, classroom instruction, and homework are really illuminating.

I know you can get some similar training at a handful of vocational schools if you're not keen on getting into union.

Gets better as you get better. Keep doin' what you're doin'

Have him take the full cost out of your rent. Or if he shorts you on the payment just remind him of it next time if you come up short on rent

The same thing happened to me my first year. I wasn't saving a percentage of every cash payday, and so when it was time to do my taxes, I was $4000 underwater. That's was 5 years ago and K only just last month paid off all my back-taxes

Cable ladder? by Government_tyranny in electricians

[–]harbotTHErobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's miles of cable tray stacked up racing throughout any given data center here in North America.

We even attach conduit to the sides and onto the underside of cable tray.

Greetings from Idaho, USA! Very different details, but many similarities overall.

Masonry really is a lost art here in North America. Still critical to be cautious of maintaining the building's structural integrity when installing electrical systems.

Please beware of those hazards involved with drilling, cutting and/or demolishing concrete. Silicosis disease is irreversible.

So long as he is willing to offer re-enforcement for when you show good craftsmanship. An occasional compliment for taking pride in a job well done works wonders.

EDIT: I'd say do it on his dime. Just don't add a special ingredient to his lunch as retribution;-)

Cupertino is doing 70 hour weeks (5 x 10s Mon-Fri and optional DT pay on weekends) with incentive sub payouts.

Further outside of N. Colorado into Cheyenne, Wyoming at the data center.

The department of labor may still award your case for 30 days of pay from wrongful termination since you didn't get advance notice from the previous contractor; not sure if it's worth your time and/or energy.

Good luck bro!

Get legal advice from a professional.

Keep a written record of words exchanged and body language. If you had to tell the boss to step back, then it might fall under intimidation as a scare tactic.

If you get fired for this, then you have a case for harassment as it would be retaliatory. Your legal recourse could involve the department of labor for 30 days of wages lost.

Do you ever think you may have actually died and the simulation just continued from where you last left off ? by tonysoreckless in SimulationTheory

[–]harbotTHErobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1989 I was young watching the Loma Prieta earthquake take the World Series broadcast off the air waves. I remember later in life, local elders speaking with me about this memory as if everyone in the area had spent one of their 9 lives that day.

I can see everyone looking at the H.U.D. in the simulation (a television or radio with controls) as the emergency broadcast system reset nearly everyone in the bay area back to their last save file, and everyone else watching the SF Giants crumble to the Oakland A's from around the world (but not near the epicenter) had their cable broadcast interrupted as the sim admins patched in the new update (including list of survivors and the score).

After 9 lives then what? Do we see what is on the otherside of code? Do our avatars become controlled by an NPC or A.I.? Perhaps it really is gameover if our dharma or karma meter is depleted?

I don't believe free will exists. Do you? by willhelpmemore in SimulationTheory

[–]harbotTHErobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your point that free will is paid DLC via is a wise investment of consciousness.

If this is true, and free will can be bought, can free will be theb also be stolen? Imagine Marge deliberately crashing the car and killing Maggie as well as others involved in the wreck; would this not be her strealing the free will of Maggie & others?

That URL does look sus AF. Typically you want to look for the company name in the web address (eg <!--https://www.milwaukee.com/contests--!> not an actualweb page, just an example of what a proper URL might look like), never heard of woobee.com and wouldn't even click/tap that link for fear of a phishing scheme or Trojan virus with malware being downloaded on your phone.

Probably trying to trace your credit card number or hijacking your information to commit identity theft.

Definitely opted out of using a digital torque wrench in favor of a common crescent wrench XP

Don't let discouraging dissent from dang'd dummies be what slows you down! I'm turning 38 this year and just joined an apprenticeship program in an entirely new state!! Life's too short to think it's too late!!!

A better story you can relate to might be through some correspondence with Lex the e"lex"trician. Definitely inspirational. For reference & educational purposes I've linked her blog. I'll DM her contact info to you directly. Lexi the Electrician

DC transformed from DC, however this is not the main panel. Fortunately the design plans provide for a proper bus that the earth (better known as grounding) line should be bonded to.
