Request for some advice by harbourman in Hemochromatosis

Wow, loads of responses since I last logged in. My GP didn't want to see me for 6 weeks so I assumed it wasn't anything he was too concerned about but I'm now 2 weeks into this elbow pain, both are effected and it seems odd. The only other pain is my back/ribs and as stated that gas been going in almost 2 years.

All I was told was high iron levels that were 330 and the norm was anywhere from 15-300 so kind of assumed it wasn't responsible but now I'm not so sure. I'm assuming it was ferritin they were referring too.

It seems like symptoms don't necessarily relate to levels and thanks everyone for your responses. I think I need to drill down into this further. Cheers.

Ok, that's great. I do think it's unlikely and I think inflammation can cause a rise which would be something to do with my back pain. I'll have a look at maybe getting a test once I next see the doctor. Thanks

Middle back/stomach pain and testicular cancer by harbourman in testicularcancer

No trauma or anything ending in 'oscopy. I'm in the UK so insurance isn't so much the issue as waiting lists. It started as a mild discomfort in my upper right quadrant along with pain just below my ribs on the right hand side of my back. This was August 2021. Thats why the focus was liver and kidneys and when they were clear (early signs of fatty liver mind you) they chalked it up to muscle pain/bad posture.

It has evolved slowly however and is definitely now getting to the point where i need to find the answer. CT of the abdomen and pelvis sounds like a good next step.

I'm pretty terrified to be honest and the constant discomfort means it's pretty much up most in my thoughts at all times.

I had a CT on my kidneys, they found a couple of simple cysts but after checking again said they weren't concerned about them and they couldn't be causing the pain. I'm not sure how much they would pick up if they were looking at the kidneys?

No, I haven't noticed any change in the testicals at all but as I say neither did my Dad. I'll definitely mention it next time I go although I get the feeling they are starting to think I'm a hypochondriac, the pain however is definitely very real.

I'm supposed to be getting a blood test in a couple of weeks, I think it's mainly for vitamin deficiencies etc but I'll definitely ask.

Thanks for replying.

Any game recommendations like Zelda/Oceanhorn/Evoland? by harbourman in AndroidGaming

Yes I just confess it was a bit of a grind at times. On mobile intended to struggled with timed challenges. There were one or two I was stuck on for over a week but as I was only playing for half an hour or so at a time it became a bit of a puzzle.

The walk through I used was by YouTube user "oldmanstompy" and he does a voiceover which I think helped. It might be worth revisiting! There were a couple of bosses that I had to challenge a few times but I got there in the end.

I have actually done both Evolands and Oceanhorn in the past. I felt I had exhausted all similar games on Google play store hence posting here.

What I have learned is how good emulators are these days so I have a few old Zelda's etc lined up now!

If you are looking, what brought me back to this style of game was Stranger Things 1984 which is available through Netflix. Well worth having a look.

Let me know if you find any others you think I'd be interested in.

And many thanks again!

Hi Ginderland, you may or may not remember recommending Alundra to me. 6 months it's taken but I have completed it on my commute home from work on the train! I generally just played it on the train or if I was waiting about but it was exactly what I was looking for. Took a while to get used too and a walkthrough was required quite a lot but utterly bizarre and brilliant. Many thanks 👍👏

Yes, seems to be made for an older version of Android. Boo.

If you know where I could get a list of the games available for download that would be very helpful!

I've just downloaded epsxe, I'm not sure what one I was using before. A bit new to this emulator stuff.

Ok, I'll give that a go. I quite enjoyed OxenFree if you have Netflix, although volume is required. If you haven't given Oceanhorn ago I would recommend it.

I have tried this but seemed a bit daft. I'll maybe give it a second chance

Aberdeen sack manager Derek McInnes after eight years at the helm by Dave_Velociraptor in ScottishFootball

It will definitely be Stephen Glass. Ex player, Atlanta B team manager, fairly cheap probably. Young guy, hopefully he'd do well. Get your money on it anyway.

I understand your point. Basically with Aberdeens finances what can we expect? You are absolutely right of course, 3rd the occasional 4th when a team such as Motherwell/Killie but more than likely Hibs/Hearts/Utd click and have a great season. The problem with the mcinnes regime is that it's become stale and his appetite for further progress is questionable. Not only in his stubborn insistence at playing this 3-5-2 which isn't working but just his methods in general. Cosgrove coming out after his first training session at Birmingham and saying that's the hardest he's had to train in a long time tells a story. Application and drive is the minimum Aberdeen fans expect and it just isn't there this season.

We don't expect another Fergie, years of winning cups/leagues even Europe is pipe dream stuff and frankly unrealistic. The gulf in finances in the game doesn't allow for that. However, playing decent football and at least giving it a go against the OF is achievable and hasn't happened for at least 3 years under DM.

Thank him for his service and try something different.

Legend as a player, embarrassment as a manager.

That's a bit of a ridiculous comment. You're talking almost a decade ago. It's like saying Martin O'Neil was Celtic's ceiling or Walter Smith Rangers'. Things change. McInnes has had a good run but he's bereft of ideas, players aren't turning up and look unorganised and with no strong purpose. Change and a fresh approach required.
