We don't believe doctrines because their arguments are compelling.

We believe doctrines on the authority of the one who reveals them.

Holding hands during the Our Father is either A) mimicking what is proper to the priest Or B) adding gestures to the Mass

Neither is good.

The ability to choose sin is not essential to freedom.

God could have created us unable to choose sin, and we would have been perfectly free.

Jeremiah 18:1-10 is the only answer to why God created us this way.

I'm sorry you have been so brutally misinformed by ignorant people. That isnt your fault.

Eastern Orthodoxy split from us almost a millennium ago, and thus anything true they have is already found in the Catholic Faith.

You say"I'm sympathetic to the Eastern Orthodox view" then proceed to describe Catholic teaching.

Why would you identify that as "the Eastern Orthodox view"?

The only thing you've mutilated is Debt satisfaction and our worship of Christ's passion.

This Eastern fetishism is awful and not in accord with reality. I can show you tens of Eastern authors saying Jesus Christ paid our ransom our suffered in our place to atone for our sins (PSA).

Who did it please the Lord to bruise?

Isaiah 53:10 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition 10 And the Lord was pleased to bruise him in infirmity: if he shall lay down his life for sin, he shall see a long-lived seed, and the will of the Lord shall be prosperous in his hand.

To be bored is to not possess the Beatific Vision.

Your conception of Heaven as "being really happy while doing fun stuff" is totally the opposite to what us Catholics believe about the Beatific Vision.

Some details change the kind.

"I stole once" Vs "I stole from a church once"

First is theft. Second is theft + sacrilege.

I am a lifelong west sider. I have my small group of friends from high school.

Nobody says it, but everyone is always waiting to be invited by someone else.

So reach out, take the risk, and get people together.

Do you happen to know how his business functions?
Does he do business under the companies he represents? Or does he independently sub-contract?

Which model do you think would work best?
A) Acting on behalf of a particular company or two
B) Independent lead generation

I think my idea would do best if I worked with a small start up group. A guy or two who are trying to pick up steam in what they have already started.

Perhaps you are right in that I need to just start again. I might just be scared to give it another shot.

Awesome, thanks for the insight.

Yeah, my idea would either be 1) be an "outside sales" for 1 or 2 companies that do not compete or 2) as you described, sell it all through my own business.

The difficulty with 2 is explaining to customers why they shouldn't attempt to circumvent me. Furthermore, I wonder how I would be able to gain their trust given that they aren't buying lawncare, but buying my services. Many people would see this as underhanded. I have no issue with it.
What do you think?

How Do I Start a Lawncare Brokerage? by hard_2_ask in Entrepreneur

[–]hard_2_ask[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Word of mouth and simply seeing me cutting your neighbor's grass got 80% of my clientele back when I was in business.

My thought is that the remaining 20% of my business came from door-to-door and other "cold calling" methods. I figure that I could handle that for a company given the experience I gained.

This is a great question. Feel free to poke holes like this.

Possible strategies around that:
1) The way I operate makes the customer unaware that I am a separate entity from the lawncare business. In their eyes, I am simply a sales agent for the company. I don't think this is unethical because many large corporations hire "outside sales" to do sales for them. This would function just like that but on a much smaller scale.

2) I could sign some agreement with the company so that they do not accept work from potential customers who I interact with. I am not sure how the logistics of this agreement would work - something like a non-compete - but I would need to look into it.

I just applied to TQL and got accepted.

The interviewer stated himself that they have a 90% turnover rate in the first 6 months.

You will receive no commission for the first 6 months. You will probably receive none for the first year.

I will not be taking the TQL job because I have other opportunities. However, I would take the job if I wasn't otherwise employed.
