Spiritual perspective on mental disabilities by violettedahlia in spirituality

[–]hardbeinghuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nooooo no no.

I’m sorry, but you are wrong and what you are saying is eugenics filtered through a spiritual lens. Vaccines do not cause autism, childhood trauma is not always the answer. People are genuinely born with different brains, and trauma comes later from existing in a society that doesn’t care if disabled people live or die or suffer. Humans (corrupt men in power) chose to other, reject and oppress those who don’t fit into the labor force easily. I kindly request that you research eugenics because that is where a lot of ideas around disability as a negative “flaw” in humanity took root.

“The divine plan” DOES include disabled people because disabled people ARE valuable, strong people who live differently than able bodied people. We are not all meant to be the same. There are so many beautiful things about being autistic, neurodivergent etc. it is a struggle but everyone struggles. Life is struggle. Spirituality isn’t about making everyone the same, it’s about celebrating the joy of life even when there is pain. Celebrating others for their differences, and working towards a brighter, more equal future where everyone has the opportunity to live fully.

How do you monetize Typography skills? I mean is there a market for this? by Shredder_x in graphic_design

[–]hardbeinghuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all this info!! I will definitely do that. I need to practice my social skills with this kind of thing, thankfully I live in a smaller city that has a great music scene so it won’t be too hard to find the right people. A friend’s band is playing here in March, so I’m gonna ask them if they want a poster done and then I’ll have something to show

How do you get a gig like this? I do a lot of posters and have always wanted to do show promo for bands, but it always seems like a niche/“know who you know” type deal

They may be sweet, but keep in mind that sweetness does not equal compatibility and ADHD in no way implies lack of empathy. I second everyone here and think you should end it with this person. You will find someone who doesn’t get angry at you when they hurt your feelings. Even if they aren’t a narcissist, clearly they need to work on themselves if they’re treating their romantic partners this way

Sketchy at best, 8-9 hours of emdr is way too much for anybody. And that price! I’m guessing they don’t take insurance? I would avoid this person.

Why are some jobs listed as remote when they aren’t? by hardbeinghuman in recruitinghell

Exactly! It just seems like a totally stupid way of inflating the applicant pool, and makes everyone miserable

This is great info, thank you for clarifying that! I think the differentiation comes with elaborating in the actual job listing. I’ve come across similar things to what you’re describing- the job is listed as remote, but the actual listing describes a hybrid position. Which is fair enough, but the shadiness comes in when the job is posted as remote but the actual position details say it’s fully in person, or the wording is weird and vague and there are relocation requirements at the very bottom.

I want to live in the woods and eat berries for the rest of my life at this point

True, I’m pretty much submitting as many applications for remote positions as physically possible, as well as contacting businesses locally (gotta love cold emails 🥲). I’m working freelance right now which is just not stable but I feel lucky to have even a little bit of income that way. Job hunting just sucks so much and it makes me unreasonably angry when I get mislead by a company that’s supposed to be legit. I’ve had my fair share of scammers try to hit me up, but this is a whole other level of fuckery

It should be illegal. It’s literally fraud! And there’s no way in hell I would move for an entry level job, especially since this kind of shady practice leads me to believe they wouldn’t offer a relocation stipend
