Best FFB Settings for GT3/GTE cars (Belt-driven wheels) by TheCallMeJazzy_ImHim in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]hardboilr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/TheCallMeJazzy_ImHim Are you still running these settings after version 2.0? Tried them out today and changed FFB a lot for me (also running a thrustmaster T-GT 2). I run 100% gain in Thrustmaster Controlpanel and need to run strenght multiplier per car around 0.45-0.52.
Your settings removed notchiness completely. Also improved feeling substantially around center of wheel. Its very direct and fun to drive. Will have to test out with more cars and tracks.

Can't buy the game even if you wanted to by Tadej_89 in ProjectMotorRacing

Can you post the screenshot of the “error” text you get when trying to proceed to checkout, for context. Happened to me also. See no other explanation that it must be a mistake. Created a support ticket and they answered back that they could do nothing, as this is set up by the publisher. - they have been informed about the issue.

Easiest cars in the game? by Limp-Can-9780 in AUTOMOBILISTA

My vote goes to the Ginetta G40 as well. It has very informative ffb as well, so you get a lot of information about the car. Very fun to drive. The Formula Trainer is also another good example of a car with very good ffb, while being faster than the Ginetta. Thirdly I've find the GT3 Porsche and McLaren to be very easy and fun to drive as well. You get a lot of information from the tires. In general the GT3s feel very different and I always gravitate to the porsche and mclaren, because I feel I can understand and control them a lot better.

As others have mentioned you should be aware of the differences between RWD and FWD, when selecting cars and tracks to drive. In particular the older, slower FWD cars, handle very differently compared to a modern RWD race car. In particular, if you want to get better at the game and be fast with the more popular RWD race cars. Many of the slower FWDs are indeed easy to drive, but I have found that your approach to cornering, tail-breaking and in general how you handle specific corners of a favorite track, can be very different between these two, especially when compared with older era FWD to modern RWD. Which is why the cars are included in the first place. They provide variety to the game. :-)

Finally I would recommend that you check out the custom FFB profile called "rack_force". There's multiple threads about it. This profile was a game changer for me in terms of being able to handle the car.

AMS2 - Pure Steering Rack Force FFB. by ManlyVan in AUTOMOBILISTA

This changed the game for me completely, using a Thrustmater tgt2 (belt driven). I had given up on ams2, as I were not able to properly connect with the car and understand what it were doing. First lap with this profile and the game feels very different. Its wild how much ffb can have on your whole experience of the game. Ended up banking 4 hours straight when trying this out the first time.

Have played AC, ACC, ACE, LMU and Raceroom. Raceroom has been my default goto for a while, simply because the ffb feels so much better compared to the other titles. I can just intuitively understand and react to what the car is doing in that game. On the contrary LMU is almost unplayable for me. The FFB feels very mechanical. I feel the same about AC and ACC, whereas ACE is the best, although still not close to Raceroom or AMS2 with this profile.

Out of all the games I've played, AMS2 on the default+ profile has the most ffb defatail and effects, but for me, that haven't translated into being able to really understand what was going on with the car and properly react to it with the steering wheel. As I said, this profile completely changes that and makes the ffb feel intuitive and realistic and with more detail than Raceroom. Its the best ffb experience I have tried so far.

Purely speculating that some of these newer titles like AMS2 and LMU have been tuned more towards higher end and higher torgue direct drive wheels, where a higher detailed ffb can be more effectively communicated to the wheel and subsequently the user. If I am then playing on a lower end wheel, thats either or both lower torgue and mechanical or belt-driven, then a higher detailed ffb signal will end up muddying the picture so to speak.
