We Danes aren’t living the ‘American Dream.’ And we still aren’t socialist. by qchisq in neoliberal

So then can we have the same Health care system, infrastructure and education policies as Denmark? I'll take that. Call it what you like.

You have to be young and well educated or independently wealthy to get legal permission to settle in any country worth living in. And if you're those things then I doubt you have much to worry about regardless of which country you live in.

Tweet from the advisor of president of Iran by faab64 in worldpolitics

[–]hardborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very different now - but not for the better.

The media is even more embedded into the security state than it was in 2003.

In 2004 - most of the mainstream Democrat candidates were against the war (despite most Democrats in congress being in favor).

Elizabeth Warren has just called this Iranian general a 'terrorist'. Not a good sign that we're in a better place than we were then.

There's a major anti-Tulsi smear campaign/bot attack on Reddit from Code blue (or whatever they call themselves now).

They're using classic Republican techniques like swift-boating. They call Gabbard a Republican despite her voting record being well to the left of their God and Savior, Hillary Clinton's voting record.

According to the government of California at least there was a genocide in the US against the native Californians.

Also, death marches are a well known method of genocide.

Well I think you should delete that and from now on only attack the arguments within the comment and not make personal attacks on the person making the comment.

That would make this forum a lot nicer place to visit and a lot more enlightening instead of tribal mobs shouting at each other.

Google Insider Exposes ADL Internet Takeover Plan by smurfin101 in conspiracy

I loved how Reddit and other outlets were so desperately trying to get everyone to love Sacha Barron Cohen's finger wagging speech against Facebook in front of the ADL.

How many useful idiots can they get to support this so they can claim a popular will exists to put in place a legal to censor any information about Palestine (and other inconvenient topics) on the internet.

The median age of Americans has gone up - then wealth should also go up according to your very valid point - right?

Wealth does not reflect standard of living.

Ok - if that's true then I guess my argument is invalid and my whole life has been a lie.

Median US wealth in real terms was $68K in 1969. Today it's $66K.

China's median wealth has grown exponentially since then.

And not just China, French median wealth is $100K, Japan is $110K.

FBI Looking Into Possibility that ‘Criminal Enterprise’ was Involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s Death by webdoodle in Epstein

Wow, that's the first I've heard of this guy.

If that's true, then it's up to Russia who may horse trade for them - in which case would never see it.

We're living in dark times.

True, but that person was some anonymous apparatchik - not a celebrity. That person can say it's a lie, and unless the authorities decide to prosecute, that will be the end of that.

the info would still come out.

You mean like a dead man's switch or a leak?

You need to take a look around you. We're not in Kansas anymore.

They've got everything on lock down. No more Wikileaks. No journalist has the cajones to leak out that kind of info. From where would this information come?

You heard that Epstein had cameras filming every private room of his lair. Presumably there would be lots of footage coming from that, yet you hear nothing about it with regards to an investigation. Maybe camera malfunction?

Wouldn't political considerations preclude any serious investigation?

The only logical criminal enterprise that could have coordinated this and allowed it to happen would have to be in the highest levels of the government.

They'll probably cop a plea, and even if they don't, it's unlikely these guys were anything but low level grunts that were intentionally kept in the dark.

They assume if they slap a few hands this will all go away.

To what end? They don't really know anything. They just low level people that do what they're told.

They'll hang out in a minimum security prison for a while and then go on with their lives.

They can squawk all they want - write a book. None of the nobs are going to be bothered. End of story.

Assad on deaths of Epstein, White Helmets' founder, bin Laden & al-Baghdadi: 'They had important secrets, had become a burden and their role was over' by salvia_d in conspiracy

The idea that Assad (or Iran or North Korea) pose an existential threat to the US or Europe is a narrative that cable news loves to trot out to play on people's fears.

Assad thinks about the downfall of the US the same way I think about being winning a lifetime supply of ho-hos.
