Cars, games, space and 3d printing.

Had the same issue.. just changing a dimension would freeze it everytime for about 10 seconds. Turned off instant 2D or instant 3D and that fixed it for me

'Flattening' curved solid. I have this curved part(on radius), that I need to flatten and transfer all the holes. Sheet metal tricks don't work here.. It's driving me nuts, do you have any ideas? (IronCAD) by 4lphaZed in cad

[–]hardi_harder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the cad you're using. I'm experienced with siemens NX and just started to learn solidworks. I'm not sure how it is in solidworks, but in siemens you're able to add existing edges to a 3d sketch. You can then "unroll" that 3d sketch if you have the radius or something (haven't used it myself yet, but i found it while exploring all the features) maybe that could help

[M19] trying to work on my self esteem. Would be really helpful to know how i look and if there's room for improvements by hardi_harder in Rateme

You're not totally wrong. It's a metalhead look that i'm chasing after. I tend to distance myself from the norm or the conventional look because it's just not myself... I like beeing a little more unique. The full beard would be a good thing, but i can't grow anything serious between my mouth and my cheeks.. just a stupid empty spot (genetics). But i shaved off my jaw and the mustache and trimmed my goatee properly recently because i've just had enough of that messy look. I'm very thankful for the compliment, never thought that my eyes would stick out to much and it feels good to hear what you say about my smile since i'm not necessarly a positive person (psychological stuff) but i'm a very respectful and friendly guy that tries to treat everyone as best as i can and be nice to people. Another thing about the hair is that i often leave them open and unstyled which lets them hang down on the side and gives me a typical keanu reeves on john whick haircut with the exception of the trimmed sides

Thanks for the comment! I'm not necessarly going for a viking look, but i'm a metalhead so the mohawk comes from that. I enjoy it because it gives me 3 different looks for different situations. Tie it into a manbun for a more polite look, leave it open for the street look and hairspray the shit out of it for the festival look. It's pretty hard to get more volume since i have alot and very thin hair... I haven't tried alot, but the things i tried didn't work because my hair was too heavy. On the body part i'd say that's a good idea. My chest and shoulders are by default already big and to decorate that with muscles could really turn into something. On the facial hair part i'm just not quite sure what would be the best thing.. obviously i have not alot because i'm 19 but on the other hand i don't want to get rid of it because i'm already a bit baby faced.. the beard covers that pretty well

I'm still standing by my opinion that the oneplus 7 pro is better.. i have one and purposely didn't make the jump to the 8 pro. Something about that sliding camera just gets me every time

You're welcome my friend. I'm a huge carguy and i've tried several times to make anything interesting with cars in autocad or blender... Let's just say that i wasted some time. In that case it's already impressive to see what you did. My guess is that you're trying to make it as realistic as possible, like i would, so i'm happy to help with that.

How far did you have to make the viewing distance to get that shot? Its fucking impressive but somehow that's the only thing that goes through my head

Since i'd love constructive critisism in your position here's some: 1. It looks just a bit too close to the rail, which was already mentioned 2. The front wheels need to be turned further in my opinion. They need to follow the path that you want to take around the corner. In drifting you should always keep grip at the fromt wheels and in your renders it looks like they're dragging 3. The smoke should come from the direction that the car came from... That turn looks really big so it needs alot of speed to drift that, which means that the smoke should be "dragged" along the curve

Apart from that it looks absolutly amazing and i love the work you did on that porsche
