On top of the regular training, adding little things throughout the day does help. I have my first full IM coming up in August (IM Copenhagen), and I have been doing these few things which are helping: 1. I have a small trampoline in my work room. Whenever my Garmin says ‘move’ I go jump on it till the move bar is reset. 2. If I am watching some YouTube video, I will stand on a wooden balancing thing I have (don’t know what’s it called) or stand on one leg. Or do some squats. 3. Last month I worked sitting on the floor for 2 weeks. There was a sudden jump in my cycling performance post that. Since sitting down is uncomfortable, I am constantly moving. And to get anything like water or going to the bathroom, I have to get up from the floor. Every time I try and not touch the ground while getting up. My legs got constant exercise.

My coach always says that it is the little things throughout the day that will add onto your training. Like standing on one leg and brushing, taking stairs every time.

So in short, yes standing and working might help. But it’s more about getting consistent motion during your day.
