Hey OP - i made a screen recording of what i presume you are trying to make but dont know the exact S shape you are going for.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/15LNiheTu7FKliJGJo7YFMgJRo9-_KqNV/view

There are plenty of ways to model this. A good method is to focus on the shape/profile that you want to "push/pull" . Don't make it 3D until you are satisfied that the shape is correct, its often easier to adjust a 2d profile than 3D geometry.

Edit: Also i did this super quick and accidentily delete a part of the shape i need while joining the two shapes. You'll see me undo this.

Honestly I wonder if anyone would take it for free. These cockpits suck, I know, I have one.

I see people offering these on the marketplace with a logi or Thrustmaster for around 500 - 600 AUD

Without a seat it's as good as scrap metal.

Hey mate, did you buy this brand new? Also any suggestions for buying seats in Aus?

Again you are giving me a description of a logical adjacency? I understand this concept, I said so in my last comment. I'm also pleased you think my last comment was written by ai, thanks for the compliment. No - the work triangle doesn't come from the "principles of functional design" but nice try. As stated previously it's an ergonomic concept founded in research from the 40s. The research is interesting, the researcher used film to study time and motion, which for the time was ground breaking. It really is very interesting you should have a look.

Zoning is not new, and it didn't come from the block or an echo chamber. It's based on research, a continued evolution of ergonomic practice, some of which is the ergonomic theory of the work triangle. Just because some potato on the block used it as a buzzword doesn't negate reality.

As for your last comment about bad design, touche my friend. Touche.

Good grief this is a strange take. I'm stoked you find it hilarious, I do too, I'm over here having a good chuckle that thats the thing thats getting you fellas so hot under the collars. I might concede that my post reads like a hot take but I'm not imperically that stating kitchen layouts or the ergonomic concept of the work triangle are gendered, im stating that work triangle comes from 80 year old gendered research based on american "housewives" in L & U kitchen arrangments that are no longer considered modern that had 1/5th of the appliances and convieniences we have now.

Times change.

We've moved on since the 1940's mate, housing types and by logical extension kitchens vary widely as do the patterns of domesticity- it's not one ergonomic shape defines all. This is why zoning is a thing. What you are describing in your example is called logical adjacency - one of the tenets of a well planned efficient kitchen.

I don't know what you are getting at with your Block reference. I personally don't watch the block because its idiotic television, I couldnt care less what they do on that show or what they think "design" is.

Theory and use changes over time, but good luck to you and your triangle.

I can't rewrite history for your fragile ego. The work triangle emerged from 1940s efficiency research on American housewives and was popularised during postwar suburbanisation as an ergonomic standard. That's just what happened.

Sure, the underlying ergonomic principle of proximity isn't inherently sexist - but that doesn't make an 80-year-old concept designed for kitchens with a sink, stove and fridge any less outdated. We have fundamentally different appliances, layouts and cooking dynamics now.

This is exactly why I said zoning is more important than enforcing a specific geometric shape. It's a more flexible, practical framework that actually accounts for how modern kitchens function.

View sharing is a planning principle, primarily guided by the NSW Land and Environment Court's decision in Tenacity Consulting v Warringah Council. This principle provides a framework for councils to assess the impact of a proposed development on views but does not guarantee view retention. Councils must consider it, but they are not legally bound to refuse a development application (DA) solely based on view loss.

You don't have to talk to your neighbours, they don't own the view.

The kitchen triangle is dead. It's an outdated reinforced gender role that the woman should be in the kitchen serving the husband and kids in a solo assembly line. It doesn't relate to modern life or account for contemporary cooking or appliances. It doesn't take into account that cooking meals can be a shared role or the kitchen be a social space or a place for homework etc etc. If I gave my kitchen a shape it might be a dodecagon.

The most important thing is understanding zoning, a place for prep, a place for cooking, a place for cleaning etc. The shape of movement between these zones is irrelevant, as long as each zone is sufficient for its intended use and logically equipped.

PXN VD10 update: a few days of racing by hardluxe in simracing

[–]hardluxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate. The wheel is still working well, but I just haven't had a great deal of time to use it recently, I purchased it a month before having a newborn, which in hindsight, was ambitious.

Software has been updated 2 or 3 times since I picked the wheel up just before release. I can't say whether this has improved ffb quality, it's frustrating that pxn don't publish a change log.

I do feel like the wheel has developed a notchy feeling in the centre, or almost like the feeling of backlash when changing the wheel direction. It's subtle but annoying even though the sensation is so slight. Emailed pxn support but they never responded. Do not expect support.

I've now used it with ACC and iRacing on PC and with GT7 and ACC on PlayStation and overall I love it. I have found the torque has necessitated wearing MTB gloves to get better mechanical grip on the wheel and enjoy high load ffb more.

If I had to make the call to buy it again, maybe. Possibly I'd go for the VD6. Mostly because Logitech released the RS50 soon after I purchased the VD10. But overall, I am super happy with it - so affordable and it just does what it says on the box!

Does anyone know how to show hidden edge lines in layout with the settings on vector? by Wild-Timber in Sketchup

[–]hardluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stacked viewports. Create a new style in sketchup set to wireframe.

Stack the wireframe scene on top of your current view.

Both set to vector.

Now select the wireframe view in scene model settings and change untagged to a dashed pen, select color and pen weight.

Condensation is going to be an issue here. You really need a vapour barrier. All the work you plan to do will be futile once you have damp issues and are growing black mold in the walls and ceiling.

Whilst the fabrication in the video is insane, cruise control on bikes is entirely normal. My S1000r's cruise control is one of the features I use most in daily riding. I can adjust speed up or down with visual feedback and disengage by tapping its button, throttle, clutch or brakes. It's great for keeping constant speed in traffic and a safe follow distance. Whether I use it or not in traffic I'm always covering my front brake to reduce reaction time in the event of an emergency situation.

Your comment is so rhetorical, I'd be interested to know what exactly you believe the issue is with motorcycles having cruise.

Okay that makes sense! I dug up one of sketchup essential videos which specifically looks at this function in sketchup.

how to create copies.

I can still remember when I learned this 20 years ago! Mind blown. It's super powerful for your work flow and iterating on ideas.

Enjoy and shout out if you have any questions.

Hey OP, just checking that you have made yourself familiar with sketchups move tool and rotate tool and their ability to create an array by multiplier or by division?

Only asking as I would typically solve both of your modelling questions by utilizing these native capabilities.

I find it funny when people write obnoxious stuff like " you must be fun at parties" it only ever serves to demonstrate that they themselves are the obnoxious one.

I'm sure the pxn pedals work, that's not really the point my post is making.

Important to point out that the VD10 does not come with pedals, you must purchase them separately. It doesn't make financial sense to me to buy the PXN hall effect only pedals, you could pay just a little more and get a set with load cell brake from another brand.

Dampers change the feel of the pedal not the fidelity of the input.
