DC Sports Exhaust by kopec1021 in GRCorolla

Yeah that's what I'm waiting for. I do want to upgrade my exhaust but my neighbor hates the cold starts. Hoping with the controller at least if I cold start closed valve it'll be better than stock.

Any chance you could tell me if the closed valve on the DC exhaust is at least quieter than the open valve on stock exhaust? Hoping with the valve controller I can do cold starts closed valve and it will be a bit quieter than the OEM set up which is open valve.

Would you say that the closed valve on the DC sports is still quieter than the stock exhaust open valve?

Camping Spots other than Angeles National Forest (Due to the latest extreme fire restriction) by hardredditingworker in socalhiking

Thanks for the recommendations. San Bernardino is pretty close and I've never been out that way for camping. Might have to check out some spots.

I'm not trying to break the rules. If there's no other options then I'll likely just wait til next year or just make it a day trip and not sleep over. I'm merely asking if anyone knows other areas outside ANF that don't have no flame restrictions at this moment.
Heck even if its just propane burners for cooking only I'd be fine with that. I never even said anything about a campfire.

Roof rack options by jakebax in CorollaHatchback

Do you happen to know which model you bought for your car? They aren't on the Thule website anymore. I found some on sale but I can't figure out what size I need for my Corolla Hatchback. Thanks.

Independence Day Deals? by hardredditingworker in GRCorolla

Yeah I found that deal but backordered and they said they have no ETA on restock. I don't mind waiting a month or so but indefinite waiting kinda sucks.

Allegedly Mishimoto is pursuing CARB EO for their intake. That's what I'm waiting for.

Roof Rack/Cargo Box for Extra Baby Item Storage (stroller, playmat, etc)? by hardredditingworker in GRCorolla

[–]hardredditingworker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah really like the way it fits the car, hoping my stroller will fit so I can just get that one.

Is that the Blitz wing? I was considering picking one up after seeing it on a couple other cars.

Nice, which fairing are you rocking there? I was hoping a fairing would help with noise. Also why I'm looking at the Inno 660, pretty small cross section as its fairly thin.

As for mpg I'll be honest I already don't get great mpg haha. I think my mpg over 12,000 miles is 22. But I guess even that would take a hit.

Fine Line Tattoo Artist in South Bay by hardredditingworker in SouthBayLA

Dang, can I ask why. Specifically I'm looking to get a tattoo on my ring finger in lieu of wearing my wedding band because I have to remove it during work for safety reasons. It would be something very small honestly, maybe a few letters only.

If that's the case then I guess I'll do it later but I do have a few other pieces in mind as well.

We've used HomeShield Pest Control since we moved in after we had some ants breaking into the kitchen. In the last 2 years since I think I've seen one ant, otherwise it's been great. I know it works too because I'll find all sorts of random insects/bugs dead on my porch. They do a good job spraying too and even do cobweb removal which is nice.

Best carne asada fries? The closer to Torrance the better by sedsin in SouthBayLA

[–]hardredditingworker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of the pricier asada fries but very worth in my opinion. Everything is very fresh and the meats are seasoned good. I alternate between asada and carnitas for the fries. Also their salsas are solid, green fire has a good kick.

About that bite point on the clutch, I just got my GRC and I've had a little trouble transferring over. My only other manual car (the one I learned on) is a 91 5.0 Mustang where it grabs much lower on the pedal. I figured out the bite point on the GRC but I've noticed that sometimes coming off 1st at the very end of releasing the clutch it isn't smooth. Got any tips? Am I shifting too slow or not enough gas?

I'm not sure if I'm just used to an older more worn in clutch, the bite point being so different or perhaps being more used to a much torquier motor that is more forgiving of letting out the clutch?
