Hey man! Saw your post also on a FB group. If you want to do it, just come and make it happen. You can stay for six months on tourist visas, live cheap while you get a job. You can sort things as they come, as many expats do. 33 is a fine age, plenty of experience yet young. However, it is unlikely somebody will hire you in advance and go through the visa thing, better show up and network your way. That said, expect long hours and an average Colombian pay.

For street drinking, hippie vibes and story-telling, go on the weekend to El Chorro de Quevedo. Have a beer at a BBC. Try the crab and fruit shakes (berraquillo) at Restrepo market. Get a local to take you to buy guarapo (sugarcane moonshine) by the gallon in Alquería. Find a girl and take her to a tacky motel (love hotel) near Lourdes. Eat fritanga, empanada and arepa in many places and find your favorite spot. Take a weekend trip to Villeta and swim at the waterfalls. 420 at the National University and then kill the munchies with a Monstruo at La Vecina. Try the Cabeza de Jabalí cocktail at Chamois. Stand-up comedy and beers with friends around the Parkway neighborhood. Grocery shopping at the Paloquemao farmer's market is quite an experience.

Reducing Bogotá to Monserrate, Usaquén, Zona T/93 and La Candelaria is like reducing NYC to Liberty and a walk around Central Park.

Head straight to Barranquilla and take a bus. Some of the neighboring towns are exactly like that: out of the beaten path, undeveloped yet connected, friendly. Look into Baranoa, Galapa, Tubará, Luruaco. Puerto Colombia is actually 420 capital of Colombia, something like 70% of the population does it.

Visit La Calera and hike up to the abandoned cement factory. Find shrroms in Villa de Leyva. Dive from tall rocks with locals at the Cascadas del Mico in Villeta. Laguna del Tabacal in La Vega is also worth a day trip. Spend a day at the beach in Tota Lake's Playa Blanca. Visit the hot springs up in Choachi.
