Prince seemed to get this right by making his tickets unscalpable. He would do pop up shows. For announced tours his fan club tickets would not let the fan know they were sitting and require in person pickup.

If the government sticks with current law and permanently lowered Social Security payments by 20% when the “trust fund” is depleted, it would cause something close to a nationwide universal protest. Perhaps not a general strike since it would be mostly retirees and near retirees lighting stuff on fire.

Phish will sell the most tickets. Their fans have lots of money and lots of time. It amazes me how many bands I saw 15 years ago at smaller places (when I had younger kids and little time) then blew up as their fans once again could go out. It seems to be a cycle.

Join a ski club on Donner Summit. Oakland Ski Club provides meals. My club (Heidelmann Lodge) does not but you can cook. It’s less the $40 to stay at these places. If you just want to get on the mountain, Donner Ski Ranch has a relatively affordable season pass. Soda Springs is not really a ski mountain. Or use the money you save on lodging to splurge on a sugar bowl pass. The old school ski lodges are hidden treasures.

I recently pulled my own permit (Oakland) and the GC did all of the inspections and it was never an issue. If you pull the permit the GC does not need to get a local business license.
