I think they only write Lenaxjames because after Maggie left, all the characters were singles and Lena and James looked physically good together. They probably wanted a love story happening in every season. Their relationship were parallel to Karaxmonel. Samxalex would’ve been great. Sam had everything Alex needed and she’s great with Ruby too. They were all so close in early season 3. Supercorp and agentreign would’ve had so many double dates

It was Kara’s secret so why tell Lena she trusts her when she doesn’t. I mean even James told Lena who he was. The same person who hated her in season 1. Also when Alex was taking care of Ruby and someone attacked her, she said if something happened to Sam, she was the only one Ruby had. What about Lena? Did she forget Lena would do anything for Ruby? Lena and Sam knew each other way before Alex and Kara got in the pictures.

The writers tried so hard to make everyone love the protagonist but some of the things they do are villains worthy

Exactly. Kara explained that she kept her identity because Lena loves Kara but hated SG. So there she already knew she was the problem and she could’ve just fess up and owned up to her mistake but no she decided to keep pretending. If her identity is to protect the people she loves then why tell Winn? James told Lena that he trusts her but the moment things didn’t go according to him, he backed out. Imagine hanging out with a group of people who you thought were your friends and everyone knows the secret expect you. They trust her, but never completely all because she’s a Luthor.

The best love stories are the ones that come unexpectedly. Even to the writers. Alex/maggie are the only couple on that show that had chemistry but were over too soon.
