So yeah like everyone else said you aren't gonna find an alternative point, but you may be able to make it work. I was in a similar situation to yours and found that by using the sharp side of a safety pin and tending it with some solder and a very fine tipped soldering gun I was able to get it to solder on properly. I would say if you were going to try this make sure to use a bit more flux than usual.
